The 06 Mods Have Started...

Just a couple of shots of my 06 CGP 6MT/Navi. I purchased the car back on Dec. 18th at which time I traded in my 05 NBP 5AT/Non-Navi. I got my first mods done this week and I'm very happy with the results. I added Tanabe Sustec Pro S-OC Type 2 Coilovers, Ingalls Rear Camber Kit & a Comptech Rear Sway Bar with the Energy Suspension Bushings. The ride is fantastic and my wife doesn't even notice I changed the stock suspension

Still to be installed when it gets a little warmer: Comptech Titanium Front Strut Bar, Comtech Short Shifter, Honda Euro R Gunmetal 17X7 Wheels w/ Yoko AVS ES100 Tires & a full 06 Euro R Lower Body Kit (on order from Boom Plus Toys-4-6 more weeks for arrival).

Look really sharp, man. Very nice photos, too. Didn't take long for you to start modding did it?

Looks awesome man. Any pics of the EuroR kit? I don't think I've seen it for the 06 yet.

Also, is the gap in the back bigger than the gap in the front?
I'm not sure if it's just your driveway, but the back looks higher to me.

very nice! You will be the first one in the forum with a euro-r kit on an 06. Now who will be the first to have the 06 Mugen kit.

No Grill or Headlights. I'm not sure I want to change over the emblems, etc. I will probably go for the headlights down the road though.

I will post pics of the Euro R kit later tonight, but I think there is a thread in this photo section already from a few weeks back. I like it much, much more than the 06 OEM kit.

The gap is a tight "2 finger" all the way around. I will probably drop it a tiny bit more when I get the kit and the wheels on in mid-late March.

35% Tint all the way around. It's the legal limit you can have in Indiana and several other states.

The Tanabe's ride almost exactly the same as the A-Spec Suspension I had on my '05. I would say the handling is also very comparable to the A-Spec-probably even more of an improvement.

The ride as compared to the Tein Basic's-NO Comparison. The ride with Basics is not that harsh or anything, but you do feel much more of the road as the high spring rates would indicate. But the Basic's performance is much better than the Tanabe's over all. Squat and dive are not strong points of the Tanabe's, but I knew that from other members comments. They are a great compromise between ride and handling-and the adjustability just makes them the ideal suspension for someone like me who wants more esthetics than performance

Chris! I KNEW your wife wouldn't even notice the suspension change Mine didn't... although NOW she claims to feel it *ever* so slightly...

It's crazy... a few months ago, I think you could count all the Tanabe owners on the board on one hand... but now????

The car looks really sharp, and what a nice, new car shine... mine hasn't seen that since late fall! I'm getting antsy waiting to see what your car will look like when the kit and rims go on. I'm sure I'll be talking to you soon anyway --- springtime will begin the next phase of modding

May I ask people with a Coilover drop of a length of 1.75 inches, does this drop cause any scraping when going over speed bumps, or some steep driveways, etc?

What is the threshold drop that would yield reduction of the wheel gap, but without scraping or the "rice drop" effect (scraping)"

Still deciding on the ASPEC vs Tanabe Coilovers..................

Thanks,

Thanks,
With Tein basics, I'm dropped 1.5F/1R and I think its the perfect drop. I just barely make it over parking blocks and I dont have to worry too much about speed bumps or dips...
