Turbos are substantially more efficient than super chargers (produce more boost while sucking less HP away from the motor) and produce a lot more power. Potentially much, much more power but you'd have build the hell out of the motor to handle it.
Edit: Oops, didn't see page two. ThirdLane beat me to it.

well, like everyone else here I'm watching intently.
it's a wonder this is the first turbo tsx we've seen any details on.
and I'm thankful to the OP for enlightening us.
but what I'm gathering is that for me, for a DD sort of car, the SC is probably
a better choice, and for someone who races, tracks or whatever the turbo is
probably a better choice.
so will this turbo setup hurt the long-term reliability of the stock engine?

For us TSX'ers SC would be the only way to retain the luxuries of VSA, CC, and the gauges. As for reliability, as long as its tuned correctly it can last just as long as a comparable NA engine. Also turbocharging is better if you live in high altitudes since turbo's wastegate would compensate for thinner air. Also OP's race gauge probably cost around $5000 or more.

however, may MT owners want to turbo their TSX,
and they would be willing to pay to have it done now.
any sort of info for them on steps they can begin to take?

oops didnt see the second page. haha how does the car handle with around three hundred horses to the front wheels? can you slam on the gas without the car wanting to pull from one side to another due to the fact there is no VSA. The LSD in the transmission should keep the tires from spinning right?

i'm just asking out of curiousity. 07/08 owners have no reflash or supercharger option. if this F/I is possible, even for ATs, albeit to a smaller degree of gains without trashing the tranny or engine, it'd be nice to know the option is there besides bolt-ons.

I really wanted a car that could blow the doors off a Volks Wagon .. so I recendly sold my low mileage '05 A/T TSX for $27 000 and put $25 000 down towards a 2004 BMW M3 that was going for $40 000 and had 15 000 KM [not miles .. kilometers].. now thats OverKill .. Believe you me if crazy power is what you want, the TSX is not the place to look. Amazing handling, traction, comfort and very stylish looks Yes! great car, but to add 50 -100 whp and expect it to one day be a crazy power car .. it will never happen. My logic when I sold my car was I'm basically spending $13 000 [40 - 27] by trading and I could dump $13 000 in my TSX, heck, I could dump $20 000 in the TSX [if i had that money anyway lol] and it still wouldn't be half the car the M3 is for that price. Anyone who has driven or has both vehicles knows its true. Sorry if anyone got mad reading this but I am just explaining my logic and the practicality of spending so much money to upgrade a luxury car such as the TSX.

He said the M3 was going for 40k. Regardless if he had 25K down as a from his old vehicle. 40K for a M3 thats 5 years old is overkill to the negative side. When you can pick up very clean low mileage E46 M3's for 25K or less.

OMG, i can get a more powerful car if i spend more money? please enlighten me with more wisdom, oh automotive sage.
thanks, but no thanks for your math lesson. i know what the TSX is capable and not capable of. i'm not looking to smoke people on the road or put 300 HP. and i don't expect 25-50 HP to help me smoke anyone. all i asked is if the kit was ever tested on an AT.
modding is a hobby. i mod my TSX to upgrade certain things, but i'm under no delusion that it's going to outrun faster cars on the road because of it.

I live in Canada .... cars are $10 000 more here than there for example go to subaru.com then subaru.ca and price out the EXACT same car .. I did .... $10 000 difference. EXACT SAME!! it makes me angry that the States gets everything for so cheap like GAS!!!! you guys are still paying under $1 a litre here its 1.28 a litre. Anyway yeah .. for here an M3 with under 15 000 k/m thats a good price. and a 3 year warenty. but this thread is about the Tsx's turbo!! lets get back to that
