XLR8 Performance Stock Diameter Crank Pulley!!!!

El Cunado
I have the pulley installed now. The bolt was a real [any expletive works] to break free. I had someone mash the brake pedal down with the shifter in 6th gear and with two steel screwdrivers jammed into the passenger-side brake rotor. I used extensions to get a breaker bar barely out beyond the wheel well and used a spare jack-stand at the same height for a base. I could only break it loose by using a six-foot steel pipe on the end of the bar! It had a nice, loud, *BANG* when breaking free. The weight difference is really significant between stock and UR.
The install was much simpler. It's torqued to right around 180 foot-pounds. Acceleration feels marginally smoother but it could be mostly mental. It does feel like it spins-up faster.
As for XLR8... the pulley arrived incredibly quickly (shipped same day when ordered around 3pm on a friday!) and with the gates belt. The packaging was great. Thank you so much for the product and service!

I didn't read the thread, only the last post. A trick I did was use a long breaker bar and tapped the ignition key when the car was on the lift about a foot in the air. That broke the crank bolt loose for me.

I didn't pull any fuse. I was just very careful and only tapped it very fast. Just quick with it and you'll be fine lol.

This is one of those mods where I'd love someone local to do it for me.
And I'm not afraid of DIY's...but when seasoned vets tell me of nightmares getting this thing off, I get a little nervous.
I've heard you should take out the side motor mount so you don't tear it
I've heard you should take out the fuse to do the blip
I've heard you shouldn't do the blip method...
I'm now hearing of adverse potential effects of the pulley
Now I'm confused.

Mustang.
Either way, you're not creating 10HP with this pulley, you're freeing up the equivalent of it. If you put it on a dyno, I don't care what type it is...if it says you're now sitting at 10 more HP at the wheels...even if it's 7 on another one, is it worth 7HP for $150-200 bucks to you?
Jpipe adds 15hp or so....and people pay $450 for that, so this is right in line with dollar per hp on our cars.

I'd love to order this if installation didn't look like a pain in the ass! I have an auto transmission... so if I use the starter trick to break the bolt loose, how would I tighten it back on without the crank turning?
i can't find a local shop (middle of nowhere iowa) that i'd trust to help with this.
