volunteer 07/08 owner to test TSX k-pro swap?
just throwing this out there for any 07/08 owners.
if anyone is willing to volunteer, the fellow at hondata mentioned he could quickly swap in a k-pro'ed 04 ecu into an 07/08 to see if it functions properly.
the appointment would have to be made late-january/early-february since they're busy rolling out sweet new products. details of the forum post below.

Honda's wiring diagrams indicate the 04-06 ECU should drive the 07/08 TSX.
They also indicate the 04-06 ECU installed in this car loses the ability to communicate with the stock OBD II connector, so there is no way of datalogging from the stock ECU for things like drive by wire problems etc. It would require the installation of a wire from the ECU to the OBD II connector.
If someone in SoCal would like to would like to make contact with us, I could test the dual adapter harness on an 07-08 fairly quickly with an 04 ECU.
However, we have a lot on our plate with the 04-06 TSXs so I would suggest making contact in about 5-6 weeks.

K-pro'd 04 ecu?
why would you do that?
you would use an 06 ecu, not an 04.
I would think. I would think it would be obvious really.
if the hondata guy says to use an 04, I question that.
they are of course the experts, but I don't like the sounds of it.
it makes no sense to use an 04 when the k-pro is out for the 06 as well.
just my two cents. but I would not put an 04 ecu in my car.
maybe an 06, but not an 04.
the 04 and 06-08 engines, intakes, etc are not setup the same,
nor do they even share many of the same parts.
but maybe it doesn't matter as much because it's just a quick test.
whatever the case, and I'm probably wrong, but whatever, somebody should
jump on this. If I were in SoCal I'd already have the appointment.

i'm sure they could arrange it to be an 06, but let them figure it out the differences. i'm just working off the quote they provided from the press release and what the fellow at hondata said.
anyways, back on topic. anyone from cali?

You are. 04-06 wiring is identical. Yes the engines are different, but the K-Pro is providing the fuel and ignition, not the stock TSX ECU. We happen to have a couple of 04 ECUs so that is what we will be doing the testing with. What works with the 04 ECU will apply to the 05 and 06 ECUs.

They're in Torrance, aren't they? If no one in Socal speaks up, I'll drive the 6 hours down there and do it, although I do now have an 06 ignition key + immobiliser on its way and an 06 ECU. I might try swapping those in first, if I can get an Acura dealer to sync them :s

it's just a full k-pro swap into your 07/08 to see if it functions or not. and yes, i believe they're in torrance.

What are we (the 07-08) supposed to do to get a programable computer if hondata is not making them anymore? Does any one have any alternatives to the kpro?

I believe Hondata are making a flash-Pro for the TSX.. Like the one they use for the S2000 etc.. Works of the OBDII port, and meant to be better then K-Pro... But no word of release date..
Doug from Hondata drives a TSX, so he aint about to dump his own project car..
Time will tell..
