VERY EASY/CHEAP mods '06 TSX A-Spec

Hi,

I've owned a 2006 Acura TSX A-Spec for 2 years and I love my car to death. We've stuck it out through good times and bad and I do not want to let it go. It has the automatic transmission and the only things I've done to it are replacing the air filter with a K&N filter and installing LED underglow (for the ladies). The only thing I'm still hungry for is more speed. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to the engine to unlock some hidden power without breaking any major 'rules' or messing up my car. ALSO I'm on an extremely low budget given I'm a college student and have very little money to my name (My parents bought me the car). Like I said I love my car to death, just wish it was a little faster...

remove resonator and do this: https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tsx-performance-parts-modifications-126/comptech-replica-intake-under-%2475-bucks-676160/

also dremel out the ribs in the airbox and it'll equal to a icebox

You can do a Hondata reflash which gives a good bit more power and is about $350 I believe. Remove the resonator which will make it sound like you somewhat have an exhaust on the car. Also you can replace the CAT with a high flow version too which should yield some good gains and only cost about $200-250. Unfotunately cheap and modding don't go well together so if those are still above your budget then I guess you are out of luck really.

How would I go about doing a Hondata Reflash? What does that entail? I think I could get the money together but I have not idea what to do from there (I'm kinda a noob at this stuff).

BTW sounds great without the resonator!

The hondata reflash changes ecu programming per you adding cai/header/exhaust so that you see/get the most gains. Removing resonator does NOTHING other than making you "sound" fast.

Actually it appears they have lowered the price on the Kpro to $295. You will have to be without your car for about 3 days but it is worth it for sure.

Here is the site http://hondata.com/reflash_tsx_06.html

Go there and find a local dealer or a dealer than can do it online. You have to then mail away your ECU for them to reprogram. You will gain about 30hp I believe with it though.

It is a very good upgrade and definitely the best first mod in my opinion for power gain.
