Talking Tuning the tsx

what are some tuning options for our tsx. i have the hondata reflash skunk2 exhaust dc header aem sri and UR pulleys. i was looking at getting a brian crower storker kit so the k24 would now be a k26!!! and id throw in some stage 2 cams since i track alot and want to see what i can get N/A. but i know i cant run just the reflash with all that and be safe and have max output. i no people have used k-pro but i lose some functions and have to use a rsx-s ecu. is the a different way to control the ecu? i think last time i checked aem have a fuel and ignition piggyback but i dont think that would be enough. why cant hondata come out with a full k-pro for the tsx. i figure if i can get a ecu/ecm and be able to control that id get the bc kit and cams with compression at 12:1 i could get 270hp or more. such a shame to have a car that can but no tuning options ...

Well k-pro, as you mentioned, is a definite option.
I dont think AEM works on our cars since its DBW, but dont quote me on this one.
Another standalone option that i came across was Haltech (eg sport1000 from memory). There are more expensive options such as Motec and Vi-pec that I know of. But i think it would be easier and cheaper to go K-pro...

if i went k-pro id have to get the dual harness and have my ecu and then a ecu from a rsx-s. right? then from there its fully "tune-able". because i know im probley running a little lean with the reflahs and everything else and i know that would not support a stroker kit very well.

Yeah that is exactly right. Its very straight forward with K-pro and its more affordable as far as I know. Hondata no longer supplies K-pro for our cars, K-tuned do sell a dual harness for us, which I will hopefully buy off them soon

really there are no options that allow you to enjoy the vehicles features and be able to upgrade the motor

i know that i had a 270hp k24 in my integra and it would be nice to have similar power in this pig of a car

Neptune (mostly known for b series) was supposedly working on a program for dbw ecu's and could possibly be out soon

well i know if k-pro works ill drive it with the stuff i have and tune but then buy the stroker kit within a few months of that. i know people who put the k24 in their car with just the motor intake and exhaust and tune and made 250+ cause of the weight difference

I would call BC and see what they recommend (if anything) for tuning.

The best solution of course would be K-Pro using the existing ECU. I emailed Hondata a while back and they said they had no plans of doing a TSX K-Pro. I'm sure it's just an issue of demand. There simply isn't a lot of people that mod their TSX. Try emailing them asking if they are working on a K-Pro for TSX. If they see a demand, I'm sure they will do it.

Another possible solution is the new AEM series 2 EMS. They are working on a plug-and-play EMS for the TSX, but have no ETA, so it may be a while.

Keep in mind that any aftermarket solution may not operate the cluster, which gets RPM, Speed, Engine Temp and CEL data from the ECU. This makes things complicated and it seems that the best solution would definitely be the factory ECU with K-Pro installed.

as hondata says nothing drives a honda like a honda ecu and with kpro i wouldnt really lose anything but the vsa and cruise but im trying to find out if the new kpro that came out will work and if it dose is it the same as the old or will it add features like vsa or cruise back in which i would love cause sometimes it snows here and vsa helps alot but other than that its off.

Hybrid Racing makes a dual ECU harness for using K-Pro with a TSX. I think they picked up where Hondata left off. I'm pretty sure the VSA and cruise will still work because the original ECU is still controlling the throttle body.
