Cool TopSpeed and OBX vs DC

Are TopSpeed and OBX headers both just stainless copies of the DC? What are the major differences between them besides the stainless vs coated mild steel...

The OBX one doesn't even fit. Its the most shameful knockoff ever, do not give that company any serious consideration on any of their products.

Yes, Topspeed is OK. It is fine to use as it comes; but one upgrade for it I suggest is to replace the flex pipe it comes with before you install it. It doesn't fail like the DC one does, but it is a cheap single wall design similar to DC's. It produces a hollow sound that you can get rid of for a $20 flex pipe upgrade plus the cost of the re-weld.

I got myself an OBX header../ and worked fine.. fitment wasn't a problem.. the only problem was the flex pipe as in other headers I have had on other cars.. does not have a liner in it.. therefore producing a sonic whistle when accelerating.. sucks.. cut it out and replace with a flex with a liner in it..

Any reason why a TopSpeed with a flexpipe upgrade would not be as good as a DC or Comptech?

^^ provided their manufacturing process has good quality control, no reason it shouldn't be as good as DC, its a DC knockoff to begin with. Comptech's design is slightly different.

slightly off topic, but are there any tsx headers out there that don't require fixing/modding before installation?

I believe DC and Topspeed have firm fitment, they do not require modification on initial installation but its recommended since your probably going to run into problems sooner or later. I am speaking about the re-welding of the pipes.

Yeah that's what I meant. does anyone make one that doesn't require re-welding down the road?

Comptech for about $550... Although if you have an AT there may be a rattle issue. Wonder if that could be resolved by a difference flex pipe to. I think the answer is NO!

Comptech is stainless steel just like Topspeed. DC is ceramic coated mild steel.
Topspeed and DC are both 4-2-1 design (Topspeed being a copy of DC Sports). Comptech is a 4-1 design. The performace characteristics will be slightly different due to the differences in the design but overall you should see about 10hp difference for both.
