Threaded perch for Koni Yellows

I found this on Kingmotorsport's page the other day. link

Its a threaded sleeve for Koni yellow shocks that basically turn them into a coilover setup. so instead of 3 perches, it has fully adjustable ride height.

jtso looked into it and found in koni's catalog, pg 28 link and explanation of how to install them.

just a FYI for anyone that has or is planning to get some shocks

Is this the setup you are planning on going with. Where's a good place to get the shocks from?

not sure, its not too expensive, but I'm sticking w/ my prokit and stock shocks for a while. and even when I do replace the shocks, I might just go w/ teins.

I just got installed Koni yellow after just having lowering springs with stock shocks...

I'm very happy with the result... koni with eibach pro-kit is a great combination... it rides so much better now... I will totally recommend konis if you already have prokit on your ride...

i just realized something...

A-Spec = 1 in drop... and Koni Yellows also give a max 1" drop...

perhaps it's an alternitive to a-spec?

The Koni has three adjustment points on the shock body. It comes default at the middle which is the stock height. You can adjust the spring perch to the lower position, which lowers the height by .5". Adjusting the spring perch to the upper position, which raises the height by .5" - .75" (one or the other...). Therefore, it's max .5" drop.

Edit: actually, you can only lower the front. You can lower or raise the rear however...

JTso:

after the installation my car looks even lower in the front (maybe too low) and still raise in the back... I was thinking maybe raise a little from the front.. to balance both sides...

I'm not sure if the guy that did the installed put the fronts shocks in the lower perch... I have to check...

My question is ... if we change the perch position .. will that affect the schock performance in anyway? do you know?

Make sure the installer put the bumpstop back in and only trim the very bottom section off if necessary. Adjusting the perch position shouldn't affect shock performance, nor does it change the spring rate, as it's designed for it. Btw, it's very easy to check if the perch is at the stock position by jacking up the car.

i got the koni yellows and eibach prokits right now. i did the work on my own so i made sure that the springs are sitting on the lower perch all around. the car looks GREAT and the DROP is like perfect.

like JTso said, the shock performance shouldnt be affected by the perch level.

it's amazing how much just a little twist of the knob affects this shocks from soft to firm

....

I think I like it best at 1 complete turn for front and rear shocks... it rides even smoother than stock ... awesome

will the pro kit/koni yellows on the lower perch setting result in more of a drop than pro kit/stock shocks?

So I just got Connie yellows installed on my car along with H&R lowering springs I originally had the springs running on the stock shocks and I loved the ride height as soon as this guy installed my old springs with these Coney yellows and installed it in my car now looks like it’s writing really high especially in the back the back has three solid finger gap where before it had none could this be that when they installed it they somehow screwed up the spring perch and is this something that I can fix myself is it something they can fix easily I would hate to have to have the whole system pulled out and disassembled to fix this but my car looks like a 4 x 4...
