Spot the mod

So its not "in your face" but it is factory JDM, only $16, and it's still all in the family...Can you spot it?

This one is what happens when your bored on a Sunday, and you "just gotta do SOMETHING to the car". Would I do it again? I dunno, not much difference in power that I can feel, my son thinks there is a little, but it does have a nice growl on WOT.

Anyway, the first mod in the pic was something I wanted to do for awhile now. If intrested the Honda part number is 15610-RWC-A00.

Let me know what you think, be brutal if you have to, lol.

#1 pix. I can't spot anything differences other than the Mobil 1 Oil cap? How does that JDM? In case that's what you change, I would rather save that $16, or put out a bit more for a nice looking Oil Cap.

#2 pix. Is that a custom Short Ram tube w/ filter? The reason why you have not feel more power is, your engine bay is tooooo crowded and not enough air circulation. If you are using the Short Ram, you should take the rest of the airbox and resonator away. They seems to hide under your short ram.

Taking the airbox out isn't going to change anything other making it look cleaner. There's more than enough air moving around to feed the engine.

You got it chuson, it's the oil cap off the RDX, I only use Mobil 1 in all my cars anyway, so it just seemed like a good idea. And something a little different to do. It's JDM because it says on the bag it came in, "Made in Japan", hehe, weak I know, but I meant it kindda "tounge in cheek"

The resonator has been off since I joined here. I only left the bottom part of the factory air box and snorkel on there because I didn't think it would make that much of a difference. ( or you can read I'm lazy, and i'ts cold and wet out, lol) If you think it would make a little more difference, I'll go ahead and take it out.

But now I have 1 FOR taking it out, and one for just leaving it in there.

Thanks guys,
Ken

Your next project should be building a heatshield for that short ram intake

+1

And yes, by taken out the remaining box should make a difference. Those box consumes alot of space down there and once you remove, you got fresh air coming up from the wheel well straight up to your SRI.

How did you remove the resonator down there but not remove the rest of the box?

Heat shield is the next step, I have some material left over from the one I built for the truck.

chuson, I just puled everything out that was connected to the snorkel in the wheel well that fits into the fender under the hood. The snorkel just pokes down into nothingness where the big resonator was.
