I ordered an M3 lip spoiler off eBay as well and after I month of waiting for it (Canada Post is so crap), it's here. I don't physically have it yet cause I have to pick it up from the post office, but I can't wait to get it put on.

The only thing I'm worried of is the cold here in Toronto. If I put the lip spoiler on now during the middle of winter, will that affect the adhesiveness of the 3M tape and the paint? I'm not sure if I should wait until spring to get it put on or not? Any suggestions guys?

BTW, the auction I bid on was for a 46" spoiler:

Thanks dalokster. Hey, did you ever get your spoiler put on ok afterwards? I know you were having problems getting it bent to the trunk before..

I haven't installed it yet...I'm actually thinking of buying the Phase lip spoiler... give me a week and I'll decide.

My lip spoiler that I bought off of ebay is just sittin around--still wondering why the heck mines is so different than everyone elses.

There's so many different "M3 style" spoilers on ebay that I guess you must have got unlucky and got one that doesn't fit well enough. I lucked out.

Update the thread when you finally decide what to do. Good luck.

Hey Sturm, quick question about your spoiler,

on 3m adhesive side did you have one long fat strip or two thin narrow strips going down the spoiler.

Mine had two narrow strips.

thanks

I just received the other lip spoiler and yup it is the exact same one that I had previously purchased. I guess you do have to work it to make it fit to the curve of the trunk.

I have another question for you all of you who have this spoiler.

Was the 3M tape applied before the spoiler was painted or after?

and another question... how much did you pay to get it painted.

I just went to the body shop who does work for my dealer and they wanted to charge a whopping 224.00 painted and installed...

I remember a few of you said you got it painted for like a $100 USD.

I know I can install the spoiler myself.

The only thing that this body shop said is that they warranty their work as long as you own the car-- against fading, peeling, and if they install it if it falls off or starts to fall off they will fix it. But damn! for 224.00 that's rape if you ask me.

Any thoughts on this?

If anyone lives in the SF bayarea and knows a reputable body shop who can do this and a reasonable price let me know.

Thanks!

The tape is applied after the paint (at least that's what I did). I think the paint total was $60 or so.

Same here. The place I got mine painted and installed put the tape on after it was painted. I got my spoiler painted and installed for only $100CDN so you should be able to get a better deal thatn $224US! So far so good with it not falling off. Haha. I'm so paranoid it's going to fall off after one of those automatic power washes

I just bought the 46" M3 lip from EBAY. Let's hope its the right one. I too am hoping that once I get this thing painted and installed that it wont just fall off if it rains or I get a carwash or something. It had better be strong enough to stay on.

I'll post some pictures when its all done.

As far as falling off--mine has been on through some wicked rain storms, expressway driving and several car washes so if attached properply, I don't think it's going to move.

Awesome. That's the same seller I bought my spoiler from.

That 3M adhesive tape it comes with is pretty damn strong cause like drthrash, my spoiler's been subjected to a lot and it's still there. I was a little concerned about it not holding up but so far so good.

I just installed mine as well Sturm. That tape is bad-ass. I didnt reallt think that it would stick like it does, in fact I had to buy more from the store because I screwed it up the first time.

It looks great, see below.

I got mine installed and painted for $80.

I have a question for you guys. I've had mine since November of last year. For the past month now I've been getting weird noises. I swear it sounds like it's coming from the exhaust, but when I took it in to the dealership the technician said that it's coming form the wing. He claims it's wind getting in between the wing and the trunk. Any of you guys having this same problem?

A little history. I have the stock body kit and the kit came with tips. I think it may be the tips. I checked the tips and they seem like they're on right. Let me know what you guys think. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Yoon,
Is you noise coming from the front passenger area area? If so email me and I will tell you the fix - has to do with the OEM kit. I was the first TSX in hte US to get a kit and have suggested to Acura how to fix the common kit problem.
