Shifter bushings AND shifter cable bushings?

I've had the Comptech SS kit and CorSport USA shifter cable bushings ("under hood" bushings) sitting in my garage for 2 years now, and I FINALLY think I'm going to put them in. I know most guys have used the various shifter bushings to improve shift feel... has anyone installed BOTH the shifter bushings AND the shifter cable bushings? Would it be redundant to put both in?

Also, can anyone point me to a place for the shifter bushings? I think they come in a set of 8? If I'm not mistaken, the DC5 and EP3 use the same size as the CL9, right?

It's absolutely not redundant to install both the shifter housing bushings and shifter cable bushings. I did both at once nearly three years ago now and it made a fantastic difference to shift feel (along with the Comptech SS kit and a nice weighted shift knob, the Maven M1).

Unfortunately I don't recall where I got the shifter housing bushings from. SpeedSource sounds like a familiar website? Unsure... good luck.

I bought my short shifter and the guy gave me the housing bushings (metal) for free. I didn't have the cable bushings.

The housing bushings made a significant difference (enough to feel and smile about), and no it would NOT be redundant to use the cable bushings as well. I'd have put them in but didn't have them so I didn't bother. It would improve shift feel even more though!

i have the same set-up as Audioserf, comptech ss with both sets of bushings and a maven knob. just installed it all not too long ago... august/september maybe? i love every second of it! okay... the part i didn't love so much was the hours of pulling on the console to install the ss, but that's all done and gone.

got base bushings off ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=250427429051

I'm beginning to feel some 'play' in my shifter, and I want to get rid of that (basically have it feel brand new).

I don't care of any SS kit, but will the shifter bushings resolve the 'play' in the shifter?

It should since the bushings are solid as opposed to OEM rubber ones
