RSX-S tranny on a TSX - pros and cons?

I have a 2004 TSX and it doesnt go into any gear but 5th so I think the shift forks fell out of place or something along those lines so I guess I have to change it. i have an rsx-s tranny sitting here in mint condition and I was going to ask if ther are any pros can cons of using the rsx-s tranny. Is the gearing ratios the same?

any help is appreciated.

I belive the rations are different as the RSX is about 400lb's less than the TSX.

I think black_6spd is the guy to ask about this. I think he swapped a couple of gears, but not all of them. He loves it, BTW.

I think that your Speedo is going to be off. Also, I wanna say that the 6th gear on the TSX is longer than on the RSX.

Um, the RSX-S is also a 6-speed box is it not?

If the Type-S tranny comes with LSD it would definitely be a nice upgrade (not sure obviously) It depends what year RSX it came out of...2005/06 RSX transmissions should be the same or very similar to all TSX tranmissions. the Early RSX transmissions I think are not compatible with TSX or late RSX

he said he had a rsx-s tranny so it would be

RSX-S
1st gear 3.266
2nd gear 2.13
3rd gear 1.517
4th gear 1.147
5th gear 0.921
6th gear 0.738
final drive 4.389

the thing is you can´t use the rsx-s trans housing it´s different from the tsx´s but he can and should swap gears and use the rsx-s 1-5gears and the tsx 6th and final drive.

I'm running ratios identical to the 06/07 Civic Si.

As far as using the rsx-s housing and gears, I believe you might run into some issues with the connectors. Keep in mind that the folks running a K24A2 with an RSX-S tranny are using them in swapped Ep's and DC's, mostly due to clearance issues. I've yet to encounter anyone using the RSX tranny on a TSX chassis.

What year is your rsx tranny? If it's pre-05, you'll likely encounter the notorious 2nd gear grind issue. Also, you might want to consider an LSD while the tranny is down.

If you decide to swap the gears out, keep in mind that your reliability will be nowhere near stock and your speedo will be off:

To me, it's still worth the risk.
