Rear struts need replacement... searching for suggestions on a 2005 TSX!

Hello,

So my 2005 TSX needs new rear struts according to my mechanic. I've decided that I do not want to use OEM struts due to their high cost and not being as high quality as aftermarket parts.

I've been having difficulty finding struts only online. Are struts considered the exact same thing as shocks? I've found 2 different makers; KYB and Tokico.

Please let me know if either of these packages would be correct for my car, and if there are more or better struts that can be purchased for my TSX.

Thanks!

I run tokico blues and they're great. I paid about $100/corner (Canadian pricing, so about $80 USD at the time). They will use all of the OEM hardware and are simple to install with a spring compressor (borrowed/rented from most auto parts stores).

Tokicos are great bang for the buck dampers in any sense. The KYB GR-2 dampers are more of an OEM replacement. However, there's something about Bilstein that I hold near and dear to my suspension loving heart.

Shoot me a PM for some hook ups.

I used tokico blue's to replace all 4 struts, and put tein s tech springs at the same time no problems, alot more fun to drive.

I used Koni yellows with the OE springs (60K miles ago), though they're pretty expensive so they may not qualify for what you're looking for. I'd like to suggest that you replace all 4 though. Doesn't make much sense to me to just replace the rears.

TOKICO HP's are a great OE replacement shock that can also handle a lowering spring:
