This could be a dumb question or a very reasonable cheap question, If you have an 04 tsx 6spd with navi, that has a reflash, could you just simply swap the ecu with a stock 05 tsx 6spd with navi?

Yes you can flip flop the ECUs between and 04 and 05 TSX. You need to do one of the following though:
1. The immobilizer ring and immobilizer chips need to follow the ECU (difficult since the keys are already cut for the 05 donor)
2. Install the 05 ECU and immobilizer ring into the 04 and then have your 04's keys mapped to the ECU at Honda/Acura with their HDS.
So why on earth would you want to do this? The normal swap is an 04AT into an 05AT so that the 05AT can benefit from the Hondata reflash, but I've never known anyone to want to put an 05MT ECU into an 04MT.

well the reason being i work at a dealership and an 04 came in on trade all riced out with a raven bodykit, big ass spoiler, cf hood and trunk etc. i drove it and felt it had a reflash a long with nice comptech headers and greddy exhuast. The opportunity arose for me to swap out the flashed ecu and headers and exhaust, even though we have mechanics (ones i can trust thankfully) i just wanted to know for myself. oh and feel free to say good idea or bad idea

^^ I think he means he has the 05' and wants to keep the reflashed 04' ECU.
antonio, you should read through the hondata reflash thread. I remember something about the 05 ECU software being encoded with the VIN number or something like that which is needed when you get TSX smogged.
