Question about enginge

I just bought my first car and its a 2004 TSX and im not sure if it has iVTEC. I checked the engine and there is no iVTEC cover on it so i am curious if there are other ways to find out if i have iVTEC in my 2004 TSX. I have tried reading up on it but i have been unsuccessful , can anyone help me find out please?

So there's no engine cover that has i-VTEC stamped on it on your engine? Hmm.... that's not a good sign (by the way, there's one on ebay for $55.95 or best offer plus $16 to ship). As long as no one stuck an old Honda 4 banger in there, you have an i-VTEC 2.4 litre engine; it was the standard equipment (and only) engine available in the 2004 TSX.

Can you hear and feel the VTEC kick in when you hit 6000+ RPM?

You should feel a surge of power around 6000 rpms during hard acceleration in 1st or 2nd gear (assuming 5AT). You will be going way past the speed limit to feel the i-Vtec kick in in 3rd or 4th gear.

If you had the Hondata reflash, the i-Vtec kick-in is about 5000rpms and you will not feel the "kick" at 6000 rpms.
