Here is a semi standard list of some performance mods you can do yourself with the right tools and maybe an extra hand.

There is a wealth of info on this site though so you might want to do some searching.

Rear swaybar
Underdrive Pulleys
Comptech Header
Throttle body spacer
Hondata Reflash
High flow catalytic converter

unless you really have the experience in modifying...

i'll say, go to a professional and do the installation. (better to be safe than to be sorry?)

and i think CAI will be the easiest thing to do only. Others will require a better/bigger tool and stuff.

Not sure but why would you want to do that. Upgrading those parts will not be all that beneficial by themselves and still won't add that much performance when combined with other mods such as K-pro

The basic DIYer should be able to install a header, high flow cat, and exhaust.

Oh that is unfortunate. Well then I revise my statement. There will be almost no performance benefit from installing intake manifold, and a fuel rail. Not sure about a bored throttle body though. I agree with Excelerate and Dtrain. Just make sure you have a good understanding of the install before you jump in. Read the DIY threads in FAQ

That probably has to do more with the Drive-by-Wire system and the curb weight of the car more than anything else. This car is not a 0-60 beast straight out of the gate.

then you better wait for a supercharger that's compatible with the 08 ecu or sell your car for something faster.

Ha ha, not sure. Maybe start a poll for all the 07-09 TSX drivers who want a reflash and present it to hondata.

Could you swap an '06 ECU and imobilizer into an '08, or have there been some engine changes that wouldn't allow it?

Its not worth it to swap ecu's. You figure you need to find an 06 ecu which might run you anywhere from $200 to $300 plus $600 to flash.. But if your willing to do it i guess it wont hurt to try if thats what you really want.

don't nag hondata. nagging won't make them work on the reflash any faster. they already know 07/08 owners would like a reflash available. heeltoe said on the other forum that they're working on it, but it's more like a project they work on in between other major projects. so it's just a matter of when.

Agreed. Nagging people has one of two results. You either get what you want, or you ensure that you never get it because you pissed off the only people who can get it to you. The latter is far more common.

I'd say a header, high flow cat, and pulleys would be a good step toward a power increase.

You could always trade your 08 for an 06 TSX if your current mods will not provide you enuff power for you.

Other than a cheaper price ($15,000-$19,000), there were very minor changes with the 06 compared to the 07/08 TSX. I think the 07/08 TSX have tire pressure monitoring (TPMS), slightly updated Navi (XM traffic?), and a modified ECU which does not allow for Hondata reflash, K-pro, or comptech supercharger. The price difference alone between an 06 compared to an 08 could pay for the engine performance mod needed to get an extra 50-90 extra HP from the 205HP k24.
