Worst case, I'm out $6.28 if it doesn't work.

its alright.. going to pick some bolts up at home depot.
btw: how did you guys, that have already installed the cat, remove the 3rd bolt on top where the cat meets the exhaust (opposite of header).. i can't seem to get a good angle on it?

yes, where the cat meets the exhaust. that third bolt on top was the worst .. i need hondata now!!!.
i noticed a bit of an increase in power but not much..but i need more seat time. i am sure once i get hondata i will be OK with the power..

To my eyes the Performance industries looks a little more coarse, with a larger central portion through which I assume two metal rods pass which inturn rotate to wrap the substrate sheets into a "core".
Aftermarket Japanese metal substrate catalytic converter's such as HKS also seem to have the same core profile.
Now that could mean there's only one way to manufacture a metal substrate core, or it could be like tire's, brakepads etc...there's only a few manufacturing facility's globaly that make the actual product to the customers particular specification/requirment and then marketed as the customers product. Just as JTso said.
I'd imagine the tooling and volume throughput required to keep the manufacturing costs down of something like this which contains precious metals (platinum) would prohibit small companies manufacturing their own.

I seriously doubt they have their own CAT manufacturing plant as it's not mentioned on their website like Car Sound, or Performance Industries like Matell pointed out. I would think the cost and process of manufacturing a CAT, which is an emission control device to meet EPA standard is quite high for a small company. However, regardless which CAT they used, it seems to perform well.
