5 or 10 will not make a HUGE savings like the 25+ did. It MIGHT save you $5-10 for 10 people.

Hell you get a nice savings just ordering online now with that cat as part of our fall promo.

It's a % off the item over $100. At the top of the home page it's mentioned.

Cool, as my Comptech header is being delivered Monday. I am installing the header and cat as a pair. I hope they get along.

Same here.... everything looks like it will mate up just fine. I also got a new header gasket and post-cat gasket from Majestic Honda (we share the same with the I4 Accord and its cheaper).

Header gasket: 18115-PNB-003
Post-cat gasket: 18393-SS0-J30

The post-cat gasket 18393-SS0-J30 will not work with a non-oem exhaust system. It is an O-ring that integrates with the oem exhaust pipe flange. Similar situation on the OEM A-pipe flange.

Actually it works with the Comptech I have on right now, it is a question of whether or not it will work with the Hi-flow cat, which I haven't honestly mated it to it yet. I'll check tonight. My thought was to simply use something to hold it against the comptech exhaust and attach the hi-flow cat. I'm wondering if that will create more of a gap since there is merely a roll at the end of the hi-flow cat.

Worst case, I'm out $6.28 if it doesn't work.

i did my install the old fashioned way with the car jacked up. that bolt on top by the header wasnt that bad just let it soak with some liquid wrench. the hardest bolt was the one on top where the cat meet the exhaust. the angle is toughest there cause the heat shield gets in the way

When I got mine I took a good look at the substrate and took some photos . From what I can see it looks like a Performance Industries core http://www.metalsubstrate.com/ which also happens to look like a MetalCat (made by Arvinmeritor who both manufacture and supply a multitude of components to the auto industry http://www.arvinmeritor.com/media/Hi...t/TPEX019H.jpg)

To my eyes the Performance industries looks a little more coarse, with a larger central portion through which I assume two metal rods pass which inturn rotate to wrap the substrate sheets into a "core".

Aftermarket Japanese metal substrate catalytic converter's such as HKS also seem to have the same core profile.

Now that could mean there's only one way to manufacture a metal substrate core, or it could be like tire's, brakepads etc...there's only a few manufacturing facility's globaly that make the actual product to the customers particular specification/requirment and then marketed as the customers product. Just as JTso said.

I'd imagine the tooling and volume throughput required to keep the manufacturing costs down of something like this which contains precious metals (platinum) would prohibit small companies manufacturing their own.

They DO make their own cats in house. Their turn around times for fabrication are quite extensive sometimes.

I don't doubt they actually weld the O2 bung, flare and weld the pipes on the CAT in house. I was just curious which manufacture or brand of CAT that they used to put it all together. I seriously doubt they have their own CAT manufacturing plant as it's not mentioned on their website like Car Sound, or Performance Industries like Matell pointed out. I would think the cost and process of manufacturing a CAT, which is an emission control device to meet EPA standard is quite high for a small company. However, regardless which CAT they used, it seems to perform well.

Matell, thanks for the info. Do you see any stamping on the CAT body that might indicate the origin?

They DO weld the bungs ans such in house and flare as well. They do outsource the CNC work for flanges and such. I know the 2 guys that weld there.

Cool! Do you know where they get the flanges from? Can you hook me up with some stainless flanges (the front one)? Thanks,
