M3 Spolier Question
I am in the market to add the M3 style deck lid spolier to my ride but have a few concerns. I have seen several E-Bay dealers selling for very reasonable prices but all say that they adhere to the deck lid with double sided tape only??? They also advertise OEM paint matching??? Any body have a good experience with a quality E-Bay product they could recommend? The matter becomes more complex as the dealer version of this deck lid spolier has two bolts that would have to be drilled into the deck lid so if the dealer suggests the bolts is the E-Bay product way off?
Your thoughts would truly help a brotha out!!!

I bought mine from XenonSpecialist on Ebay. I haven't put it on yet, but the paint was flawless. I bought from him after recommendations from a lot of other members. And yes the 3m tape will make it stick. It's really light. Just make sure you clean the surface of the trunk edge before you put it on.

Thanks for the recommendation. I have seen those cats all over E-Bay but was not too sure. If you don't mind what did you pay for it? Was it won on a bid or Buy Now?

Just search "spoiler" and you get 191 hits. At least 50% of them pertain to the new thread you opened.

I am too lazy to post specific links for you.

I'm thinking of buy this M3 lip also but I'm concerned about the tape vs. screwed in version. I would rather not make holes into my car but I'm concerned if the glue will deform after a few years or will is get loose in the summer months. May I please have some of the spoiler owners sound off with their experiences. I appreciate it.

That 3M tape is industrial strength... that lip isn't going to go anywhere, provided that you attach it *properly* (i.e., clean all areas with isopropyl alcohol, let the adhesive "set" for x amt of hrs, etc.). I've had both the M3 replica and the Xenonspecialist (currently on) versions on my car. They are slightly different in shape, as well as material. Since most of the blokes on this board have used the Xenonspecialist one (from eBay), I'll just add my to the list of satisfied owners. The paint is DEAD ON, installation is a piece of cake, and the 3M tape comes pre-mounted on it. I've now gone through a Northeast winter with this lip spoiler, and that sucker isn't going anywhere. Even if it did, it only costs ~$10 for a roll of that 3M tape, which was designed primarily for attaching auto accessories to body panels.
To my knowledge, there is still not an OEM lip spoiler available for the TSX. InsuranceGuy, if your dealer says that he can get one, I'd be interested to hear about it. For the price, the Xenonspecialist lip is definitely worth it...

The Power of a Grill
i've had my spoiler on for a year now with provided 3m tape. put it through the power washer just to test a month after and it did not move. it is there unless i get a giant wrestler to take it off (grrrr). i had mine painted here in town and it is still as shiny as the trunk. me likey. i dont think the lip spoilers bolt on at all for tsx, just the full on spoiler oem style. you are welcome to stop by and look at mine anytime (even though it is dirty right now)

Another vote for the lip spoiler from xenonspecialist on ebay.
I got it for Christmas, and the color was perfect. I followed the same steps as amadeus303 mentions above, and it looks great.

Hi there,
I'm in Australia and have been trying to get a trunk lid lip spoiler for my Accord Euro (Same body panels as Accura TSX) My car is Graphite Pearl which I think is the same as your Carbon Gray pearl. My color code is NH 658 P.
How much do you want for your spoiler and what company does it come from?
Would you ship it to me here in Australia. Thanks Mike

Mike, you do realise that post was made February last year!
I suspect Zasker has long since sold it locally or elsewhere.
If you're after a lip spoiler - M3 style or OEM ducktail style - then ebay for the former, local dealer for the latter, or or own SuperShyGuy ("Would there be interest" thread) for a replica of the latter.
In the replica case, you'd need to get it painted, the OEM will be pre-painted already, and the M3 one on ebay is pre-painted too.

To help bring this thread back from the dead I have a quick question:
Can you adhere the ducktail spoiler with 3m tape even though they want you to install it by bolting it on? Has anyone done this?? I would be much more inclined to buy the ducktail spoiler if I knew the install wouldnt be permanent...

A question for anyone who has decided to take off the M3 lip spoiler for one reason or another... did it leave some mark on your trunk? What I'm afraid of is ruining the paint - much like a tan line on your body. I'd like to get a subtle spoiler for my TSX but have been hemming and hawing about it for awhile now.

Doh !!!
I just bought 4 trunk lid lip spoilers from Delsa and they are fantastic. Paint match is perfect, the length is 1180mm which leaves about 2 mm each end which is also perfect and the service from Alex at Delsa was unreal. He couldn't have been more helpful re matching colors etc. From order to arrival took 4 days to Australia wcich I think is pretty cool.
Cheers,
Mike
