Lowering w/ cai

If I lower my car after gettin a cold air intake installed, will my chances of hydrolocking go up? I live in Maryland and it doesnt get crazy wet over here. Also if anybody has their car lowered and has a cai, can you give your input/experiences

You always take risks installing the cai due to hydrolocks, but there is a little netting you can put around the filter that repels water. Sorry I don't have the link though...

iamhomin, who purchased the SRI due to the weather conditions in NJ.

no, if you are driving through 1ft of water or 1.5ft of water, its all relatively, you're screwed. I have a CAI and lowered, the car still has plenty of clearence if you aren't slammed.

If you're worry about hydrolocking you can also consider the Comptech Ice Box.

2 inches won't increase your chances enough to worry about it. Why would you want to drive through standing water anyway?

That's just a bad idea, IMO.

In both Injen and Comptech installations the stock resonator is taken out. The difference is that the Injen is a long tube used to drawn cold air while the ice box has a shorter tube that connects to the existing OEM air box but has a bigger box to increase air flow to the engine.

Ice box
Injen CAI
