K20A Valve Cover Install
Installed my JDM valve cover today here's some pics for the install
Remove the intake manifold cover and spark plug cover. Unclip the spark plug coils and pull them out.
Remove the 2 screws holding in the vaccuum hose to the cover. Remove bolt in upper left and remove cover. You have to jiggle and pull a hose out of the way to get it off. Here's the head.
Pull out the gasket and push it into the new cover. Replacing and voila:

Just the cover? cools...I remember I saw someone else here did it before and he said something about how it's not a direct fit and some very minor work was needed. A myth eh?

Those this cover increase your performance? If not, why waste 175 bucks on something you can't see unless you open your hood? Why not just paint the one you had red?

The gasket on the old cover is rubber. I recommend just using some of the loose oil on the old cover to lube it (gasket) up, and then place it inside the new cover. You'll understand after you take it off, but no need to purchase a new one unless you break it somehow, which seems impossible to do.
You shouldn't need any type of sealant, and if there are torque specs, make sure to go by them, it's easy to strip or break the bolts.

the sparkplug cover is also 8.7ft/lb. FYI you need to buy 2 nut caps for the JDM valve cover since the sparkplug cover attaches slightly different. You can buy 2 more of the back caps that are on the OEM sparkplug cover, or you can do what I did and buy 4 of the silver caps used on the intake manifold cover and replace the OEM ones.
IMO the silver looks much much better than the black OEM ones, the part # is 90201-P8E-A00.

Good info Xizor. Wish I knew that before I installed mine, would've saved one broken bolt! Guess I'll know how to do it properly on the RSX though.
I agree about the silver caps. Looks much better. You can get away w/ buying only two, but you'll have two odd looking black caps mixed in with other silver ones.
