I belong to the camp that believes that any increased performance or mileage claims are completely exaggerated (to the degree where I'm pretty sure that neither make any difference on the street), plus I'm kind of lazy. So, the short ram was the only route for me for my 05 (recently sold). I only wanted it for looks and for it to sound cool, and the short ram accomplished both of those things. And I didn't have to worry about sucking up any water too (I honestly don't know what the odds are of that happening with the cold air induction, but it was reported here more than once, and that was enough for me to steer clear).

I can't really advise against it since I haven't had one. I was just giving you the reasons why I went with what I did (and would do the same thing again). I replaced the 05 with an 010 and I haven't decided if I'm going to go the same route with the newer car.

CAI makes more power, draws in colder air.
