the only downside I know of is that the damper will transmit more engine vibration into the chasis/cabin

That is true, very much like the motor mount inserts. The setting on the ETD needs to be adjusted correctly to minimize the potential vibration problem.

There is also the issue of efficiency. When the engine torques against its mounts by using the transmission/half shafts as a fulcrum, the mounts absorb excess energy that could otherwise be dissipated through the wheels and accelerate the car faster. Just like underdrive pulleys, this sort of mod doesn't help the engine create any excess energy, but it does help what energy it is creating end up where you want it to go (the wheels).

so basically if I put this on and make it as stiff as possible then it will be most effective. is there any harm in putting it at full stiffness.

what the function of the stiffy is to reduce/ eliminate wheel hop, and in the TSX as well as rsx-s eliminating wheel hop will transform in a better launch, causeing better 1/4 times. with the stiffy it will just spin the tires, not hop them, so you will basically do a burn out rather then wheel hopping...... had a friend that had it in his rsx-s, but the only downside was that his squeeked over bumps, i am not sure if all were like that or just his, but it eliminated wheelhop completely.... i think its a worthwhile mod. and yes it does produce viabration, but only at low rpm > 1500 rpmish.....

and CCC i don't think there is a full stiffness setting, they all come with the same setting, non adjustable....

The Stiffy is adjustable. http://www.ingallseng.com/graphics/W...0breakdown.pdf

Wow, that's a lot of movement... is that header gap reduced because of your aftermarket header (DC?)

Don't think so. Either the engine mount is broken or the increased of engine output causing more stress on the mounts under load.

Function over Comfort

I had motor mounts in my Integra. You get use to the added vibration. Loose change and etc.. will be vibrating

Any progress on the ETD? Has anyone received anything from Ingalls for test fitting yet?

I would do it but I am way to far away. If they would send me one I would test fit for them that way but thats the only way I can do it.

The problem is there isn't a mounting system for the TSX. The AC lines, ABS motor, brake lines, strut bar, and power steering hose are all potential issues. However, I'm in the process of making a set of custom brackets to address those issues as well as aftermarket strut bars. I have proposed the idea to Ingalls to see if they are interested. If not, does anyone know the process of transferring preliminary design to production? The ETD unit itself is not a problem as there are universal units out there.
