ingalls ETD help

hey guys i just installed my Ingalls ETD on my 07 TSX

fit is fine, only issue is a headliner scratch on the hood.

Anyway to fix the headliner issue?

Also theres in idle when the AC is on the car vibrates like crazy anyway to reduce this or is that normal?

I put a rubber 0 ring in there that came with it

thanks

the rubbing of the hood insulation (or headliner as you called it) is normal, nothing you need to fix as it won't hurt the hood or the insulation. it is normal to feel more vibration in the car's cabin with the stiffy installed, especially when the a/c turns on.

It's a known issue. If you do a search for it, you'll see what people have done with their units. Some people just cut into their headliner to give it clearance. Others will grind/dremel the unit.

Alot of people complained when it first came out, and Ingall said that no two TSX's are alike, so you'll have to modify the unit for your particular case.

As for the A/C, that's normal. By installing the unit, engine vibrations will be sent into the cabin.

I didn't mess with mine at all. It rubs the hood insulation a little, makes a little groove in it. No big deal, not something I'd get out the Dremel for. Plus, by the time you take enough metal off the bracket to clear the insulation, you may weaken that mounting hole.

As for the vibration, you can experiment with different o-rings from Home Depot or the auto parts store. But part of the idea is you're more directly connecting the engine to the chassis and you're going to get an increase in vibration as a result.

I put a piece of velcro (the soft side) on to the top of the bracket, and another piece onto the hood liner. It stops it from tearing a hole, but the indent is still there.

With the ETD, added vibrations from the AC is normal.

also is it normal for the stiffy itself to bend to the right after driving? like it twists to the right where the passenger mount is

The bearing takes up the slack in angle. I personally added 1 more washer, so that it lined up with the engine block movement.
