I/H/Hondata TSX 6mt vs. RSX-S

Im thinking about picking up an 07 TSX 6mt to replace my RSX-S as a daily driver.

Im pretty satisfied with the straight line performance the RSX-S has for now, and was wondering if any of you guys could tell me how a slightly modded (as in Comptech Ice Box, Comptech Header, and Hondata reflash) would compare to a stock RSX-S.

Your going into a slower car
your getting luxuary 4door well mid luxary from a 2 door coupe with cheaper interior.

stubby car to a car with a sucky turn radius

loud windnoise to a bit quieter ride

theres plenty to name but most people are happy going from the race group to a daily driver or family car.

Well he is asking what comparing i mean the rsx technically faster in the lighter weight, but a type s will beat a stock tsx for the most part.

So slightly modded it probably be a drivers race.

^^ I raced a co-worker's RSX-S, but neither of us was stock.

Back then, I had only CAI and hondata while he had K-pro and exhaust. He pulled on me every time while in 2nd gear. In the 1/4 mile, I think he'd beat my old setup by 1-1/2 to 2 car lengths.

From Hondata.com:

Reflashed 06 with and without CAI (reason NOT to do this to daily driver )

The question is, how you would do with your revised gearing. Or better yet, how much would you beat him by.

this is pretty much a guess, but i think hondata 6-speed without I/H would be pretty even with a rsx-s...but with I/H i think it'd be pretty easy for a tsx to win...and you'd be winning with class in a tsx, too

Thanks for the responses guys. I totally forgot about the 07/08 Hondata not being released yet , so really any year TSX with those mods would be comparable.

Im not looking to go race every RSX-S I see, I just used the RSX-S for comparison because thats my daily driver right now and right now Im satisfied with the straight line performance. I asked about those specific mods because it seems like they give the most bang for the buck while not creating unwanted noise or affecting drivability.

Im going for a test drive today hopefully, wish me luck! Now if Hondata would just make that 07/08 reflash...

Since I have the header/intake combo, I can say that this isn't going to add a whole lotta noise. The intake is a little bit louder than stock. To be more descriptive, its adds sound without adding much volume. The tonal quality is really invigorating as compared to stock. Its fuller.

The only con is that the header has had complaints about excess vibration. Either I got used to it, or its not as bad as its made out to be. I think its the latter, as many people have had this header and like it just fine.

I traded in my 05 RSX type S (with a CAI) for a brand new 07 TSX 6 m/t in April, and what I have discovered is they are two very different breeds of cars yet still similar in many ways.

The RSX was an all around rocket, especially with the added CAI, it just felt like even in top gear, I can mash down the gas pedal and take off. It handled very well around the corners and ultimatly was a great car.

The only reason I would ever tell someone to upgrade to a TSX is for more space and better features.

The TSX is filled to the brim with features that RSX owners could only dream of having. Bluetooth, handsfree Navi, climate control (instead of those stupid dials the RSX has), even the aux imput for your mp3 player jack and most noticably... 4 doors.

If you want a car that is super fun to drive hands down and don't need to worry about space or high end tech items... keep that RSX as long as she'll run... its an amazing car.

However, if you want those little bonus items that the RSX lacks, try out a TSX but be prepaired to spend more money on the car itself and also on aftermarket items to get it to the same driveability point as the RSX is at right now... its an expensive process.
