For all this ECU reflashes (such as Hondata or Hydra), they were tuned w/ I/H/E from skretch, and yields are Noticeable gain. However, does it matter that I must to I/H/E first, then send to Hondata for reflash? Can I send my ECU to Hondata to reflash first, then get my IH/E after and still gain the same amount of HP/Torque as previous method?? THX
It doesn't matter with the Hondata reflash for simple mods such as I/H/E. However, if you have a programmable ECU such as the Hydra, I would re-tune the settings to optimize the gain. The base maps are usually just good enough to start the car and drive to a dyno for tuning.

No need to do that... By doing so is like resetting the ECU every morning before you drive because the morning temp is colder than the afternoon temp when you drove home from the day before. Then repeat the process again when you get off work becasue the aftenoon temp is hotter than morning temp. The ECU is capable to make changes accordingly base on the various sensor inputs.

The best one I heard was someone asking if it's necessary to reset the ECU after they got the ECU back from Hondata for the reflash.

I know that a lot of subaru guys use the Hydra Nemesis. They seem to like it much more than the tsx utec, but the Hydra has many more features, costs more and is a stand alone unit. For guys that are generally getting rid of their MAF sensors, the hydra is widely used.

This should be very good news for people planning on FI.

The last time I checked it was not OBD2 compliant.

With Launch Control as one of its many advantages as well as being possible to tune it specifically to your car and your mod's, I think Hondata's glory days may be over ...

The Nemesis is not OBD2 compliant so it would be a problem for most people during emission inspection.
