I know. Besides, it is not confirmed that CT SC will fit 05 auto. It doesnt fit 06 auto eventho there is reflash available for 06 auto so I will keep my 04 ECU in closet in case I will have spare cents for a SC

^ our auto tranny seems to hold up pretty well to the s/c. i wouldn't be too scared to go ahead and take the plunge.
now, if you plan on running a high boost pulley, water/meth injection, or nos simultaneously then i'd probably reconsider
as colts has pointed out, no etd on the market fits the auto/sc configuration. you could always get engine mounts instead

an ETD is an Engine Torque Damper.
and nobody has tried the FEEL'S one yet, so nobody can
say that it doesn't work.
it is designed different from all the rest and worth a try.
you would want new mounts because you would want stiffer ones.
and nobody knows what will break out tranny until they do it.
I've yet to read of it's threshold. so it's all just guessing on that account.

etd helps put power to the ground by reducing wheel hop/spin. stiffer engine mounts do the same thing basically (only better), but they tend to create more in-cabin vibration than etd's

So is it due to emission issues thats why we cant reflash the 05 auto and/or add the supercharger? Excuse my noobness, im new to the TSX scene. I know 05-06 RSX guys cant do a reflash also unless they get a 02-04 ecu and throttle body.

I am really thinking. I have 04 ECU and I could get SC... and/or K-pro, but I am a poor college student and cant really afford those PRICY things at the moment. So I guess I will just stick with the reflash

Saw a post on the Hondata forum confirming the 05 AT reflash:
http://www.hondata.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6988
congrats guys!
FYI, the 04 and 05 Auto's are identical mechanical wise. So a SC kit for the 04 would fit on an 05. The only thing keeping Comptech from selling it in the past was that they couldn't put the SC reflash on the 05 ECU. It sounds like that is solved now though.

I checked yesterday or 2 days ago. Nothing new, really. I am waiting for reflash bc K-pro would only be an option if I was going for some serious upgrades (turbo/cams) However, there is still a possibility that I will change my mind

I still want it. I'm only going bolt-ons, so this will be all I need.

My current mods for power are: CT-engineering I/H, 17 lbs wheels, TB spacer.
My first impression? There was no change in idle, and the engine note didn't change at all. No extra vibrations, no lumpy cam, no exhaust change, nothing. As far as I can tell, its was just like before. Great, because I don't need this car to feel like its changed its normal operation.
But I can tell, with a little bigger step on the gas, things have changed. Power comes on quick, there is no pre-vtec dip. I've been driving my TSX for a long time (80k miles) and that's the weirdest thing to get used to. You don't pay a price to get into the upper rev range (6k+). And crossing into vtec at 5k feel great, but those looking for a audible reward will be disappointed. There is a definite power increase (or it might be just me anticipating a drop) but its just not easily discernable because its a smooth increase. Some nice N/A style power - the power is not stepped like a vtec vehicle from the 90s or a turbo, etc.
Since my pre-reflash car is fresh in my mind, I can tell that the car is well ahead of where it once was. It gets into the powerband quicker than I currently anticipate, so I will have to relearn everything. I was pretty good about anticipating upshifts, but with the changed rev limiter, I'll have to have a couple of runs to get used to it again.
Overall, its a great mod. It not only fills in the power dips, but it opens up everything as well. I think its the best mod I have gotten. Definitely up there on the bang for the buck, especially if you already have I/H.
Oh, and before I forget, I got it for the GB price wong05tsx put together. Shawn was great too, did it quick and honored the GB price even though I wasn't with the large group. Great mod, great price.

I went through a tank of gas in 3 hours =X. I guess I was having a little too much fun haha...
But in regards to gas mileage, since Earl didn't cover it -
On my drive down to Socal to get the reflash, I averaged 29.6 on the Trip Computer -- going around 80-90 the whole way, with a few spirited spurts. On the drive back up north, I averaged 29.4, so I think it's safe to say there is no effect on the mpg. This was a ~400 mile trip each way by the way, so the numbers should be pretty accurate.
Thanks for everyone who participated in the GB and making it possible
Here's the dyno for those interested, only performance mods is I/E..... though I just bought Dayta's CT header since I'm itching for more power now

great reviews of the reflash above also.

If you go K-Pro first, you'll have to get it tuned which runs ~$1k. Then, once you add the S/C, you'll have to get it tuned again, effectively doubling your tuning costs. The stock CT S/C kit will function just fine with your car as it is now, and IMO will most likely net better gains then going K-Pro only. Tsx536 has been running his S/C setup @ 5psi for 50k+ miles already.
However, once you add K-Pro and increase the boost, there's a strong possibility that you'll also have to reinforce your transmission to safely handle the additional power (upgraded torque converter, clutch pack, etc).

Personally, I would go with the S/C first, then K-Pro down the road.

For power i think i want to stay in the 270 range... More specifically i want to run the most power i can on the stock transmission.

northbridge, if u want 270WHP, u dont even need SC. Hytech will get u there IMO. Also, I wouldnt risk putting more than 230-40 WHP on stock auto tranny. I will go bolt-ons for now, then swap tranny far down the road and then get FI. By that time there will HAVE TO be a turbo kit

i thought there was a k-pro basemap hondata did with the hytech exhaust and injen CAI? i didnt know i had to tune again.... if thats the case then ill def get the SC first.

Horsepower figures don't determine how much power a drivetrain/transmission can handle - torque figures do. At ~270whp, you should be around 200-210wtq. Since no one with an AT transmission has hit those output numbers yet, it's difficult to determine if upgrading components will be necessary. I can say that on my MT, I ran into some minor clutch slippage issues at 276whp/211wtq (only 28k miles on the car).

I believe Doug's Hytech tune was also done with a machined VTC so you would have to modify that as well to use his map. I would confirm that with him, though.
