HONDATA Question

I just got back to my office from HP Motoring where I went to buy steel brake lines, and ebc green stuff pads. While there I asked if they did HONDATA and how much would it be. The guy looks at me and says
guy: 1300
me: why so much,
Guy: "K-Pro".
Me: they only have the reflash for the TSX.
Guy: No you have a K series, right?
Me:
Guy: They have K-pro for all the K-series
Me: So you just use the program for the RSX
Guy: Yeah, we've done 3 TSX's with them and 2 of them we Turbo'd

My question is what are the benefits of this and is using that better than getting the TSX reflash. I wouldn't think so but then again I'm not sure. They also sell the Injen CAI for 220 is that a good price?

Injen CAI can be bought at around $210, so $220 isn't that bad of a price.

As for the K-pro, Hondata hasn't confirmed any of this, so nay, nay, nay.

Stay away from that dealer. No K-Pro works with the K24A2 yet.

Maybe you could call the guys at Hondata and ask them about this. Then let us know the response. Sounds a little fishy to me, but Hondata should know best.

and Hondata would probably like to know one of its authorized dealers might be doing fishy things with their brand and products out there!

Correct me if I am wrong... one of the biggest technical reasons for no (or not yet) K-Pro for TSX/K24A2 is the drive-by-wire (DBW), right???

Didn't someone post awhile back pic of a tsx that was stripped and that had a KPRO and I also remember another post about a magazine that had put the rsx kpro in the TSX and there was a discussion about there being an extra wire and where they put it. I'll look for the threads but I'm positive I remember someone posting about it.

Yeah that was the big discussion in the other post I remember. How they got around that.

The Skunk2 TSX used the K-Pro from the RSX (K20A2) but it was a pretty bad hackjob. You lose your VSA, gauges, cruise control, and climate control. You also have to install a conventional throttle body and run a throttle cable through the firewall.

Hondata hasn't ruled out a K-Pro for the TSX but they won't have anything for 18 months at the earliest. If they do come out with a K-Pro you can have your reflash upgraded to K-Pro for a discount.

Yes, that's probably the reason!!!

Even an Acura sales person got their stuff mixed up... we went in for a test drive on the RSX (when TSX was just released) and was told that the RSX has traction control --- of course I knew better, so I knew right off that it's all

Im just gonna go ahead and order the reflash from clubrsx next month, they send me a box with a lable. I tell hondata what I want and it comes out to $595. It's what my friend's brother did with his civic si a few months ago and I was talking to him today, I figure that's the best bet. Also thanks for the website, that's probably what I'll do.

In addition, there is free overnight shipping included in the price of $595 when you purchase through the offer from Kindle Racing. That's a $70 savings.

Stock: In an MT, there's a rev limiter at 4500 RPM when you're at a stand still

w/Hondata: Does this rev limiter still exist or is it eliminated?
