Exclamation Hondata KPRO who would buy it???

Ok I am curious IF Hondata came around and worked with us and eventually got a Kpro out for the TSX who would buy one?

Let me be the first to say
HONDATA MAKE A KPRO AND I WILL BE THE FIRST TO BUY YOU!!! With that being said who else would like to be able to comepletely custom tune your car to each application and modification that is unique to your ride? I know even some of you 1st reflash buyers will eventually change your mods so you will need this too. So speak up lets be heard!!!

I would buy it if it meant that I could get a second ECU and leave the factory one stock.

Should be able to the RSX Kpro has a section where you can enable or disable the immobilizer. Would be nice wouldn't it.

K-Pro + ECU is a much better investment than just upgrading your existing ECU because you can sell it separatly from the car and recover most of your money. It will probably cost you less to do that than it would to buy a reflash.

The nice thing is you can just download a new profile and upload it to your K-Pro without knowing dick-all about fuel maps.

true.

actually my friend was just talkin to me about his k pro.

so i guess i would be in.

we only have to pay the difference between a reflash and a kpro if we want to upgrade anyway.

so i'm in.

Even if you can't do it then a local tuning shop that has a dyno should be able to. And yes Dzuy you can just pay the difference. I would have gotten the reflash if I had just those mods. But since my mods are completely different then I will just wait till a K pro comes out.

Hello all, ECU here. Is the K-Pro a user programmable ECU? From reading the posts here I'm guessing that the Hondata reflash reprograms the ECU with a different performance profile (currently optimized for a certain mods of specific brand) whereas the K-Pro is an ECU that the user can program on his/her own with any number of performance profiles depending on the mods the user has. Is that right?

Though it's a long way away, I'll do it. I'll live with the reflash for now. It will be more than accomodating.

Is the K-Pro going to be significantly more expensive though, like $1000+?

Count me in too.

No one is going to know until Hondata actually develops and releases the product. One should hope that the pricing is consistent for the K-Pro along the lines of the RSX applications have been.

I would buy a K-Pro if it were to be available for the TSX in the future. But right now I'm going with the reflash.

A programmable ECU is definitely essential for modifications.

We hear you. Thank you for the support.

The time taken from the first reflash of the RSX to the K-Pro for the RSX was 18 months. The TSX ECU is completely different from the RSX.

We will examine the options and see what is possible, but cannot promise any product and any timeframe.

Hey Hondata I can wait 18 months. Thanks for looking out for us TSX guys!!! That reflash came out pretty quick. Can't wait to see future reflashes and with turbo options. And I completely stand with Johnny on this one.

i'm in 100% if kpro came out.......

plus if one guy tunes it for injen cai/ dc header/ fijitsubo exhaust/ ips cams (hehe) (just trying to mix up companies and not having them all from comptech) and u have the exact same mods u can politely ask to see his setup and u can copy it also, granted each engine is slightly different the tuning will almost dead on and all it takes is the first person to do it.

I might be off on this, but one persons map might not match another, even with same parts. You gotta consider different factors, like altitude, and other stuff.

what can be done to add more power to the bottom end w/o forced induction.

hondata, do you have any plans for an upgrade flash if ips releases cams for the tsx?

true, i also don't know exactly, but i'm sure there will be someone fairly close. come to think of it the reflash is a one map fits all, so i guess that a map will help a lot of people, or if not a great starting point.

What would happen if you get the reflash now then upgrade later to k-pro?
Will you be paying for 2 different ECU's?

hehe its WAY too early to tell.

I would leave Hondata alone about it for a while. They still are having issues with the 2005 Model Year ECU's....

K-Pro is a long ways away.

repeat: long ways away

I don't care about the 2005 model ECU's lol. I want a Kpro lol. Just swap your 05 ecu with a wrecked 04 and have the dealership flash it to match your key and immobilizer and then send it to hondata. there problem solved. =)

or you should start a thread "us mofo's want kpro"

Quick Reply: Hondata KPRO who would buy it???
