Yes it is possible, but a PIA. You have to remove the entire lense, heat up the seal (which is like a VERY sticky tar substance), remove the lense and then remove the yellow lense. No for the tricky part... you have to put it back together and maintain a seal or you'll get clouding inside the entire lense body.
A few have done it hear. I suggest buying a set of the JDM versions because it looks better to have a clear lense there than no yellow one.

i wouldn't do that mod.
once you break the seal - you'll never seal back as well as the factory did. i know b/c my friends use to open up their headlights and clear it out the ghetto way. it holds up for maybe a year or so - but water will eventually leak in and deterioate your headlight.
we have a nice car - if you want to make it look nice - you have to spend the money.
plus the people who really are into cars can tell the difference anyway. i was at a car show recently and there was a s2000 with the diffuser - and he tried to pull it off as the real jdm headlight - and everyone there knew it was fake and he looked like a moron.
there is no alternative for the real thing.

I ended up tinting my diffuser. When I resealed the headlights I actually removed all of the old seal and replaced it with new. It's gone through the winter with no problems.
