HEADERS CERAMIC OR Stainless Steel?

DC sports are soon to release ceramic headers, I vaguely remember reading negative info regarding ceramic headers, specifically DC sports brand, any comments? What are the benefits or shortcomings of ceramic vs. stainless steel?

I don't think they're really ceramic headers. Ceramic coated perhaps but not pure ceramic. If they are, they would be Uber expensive!

The only negative I've ever read about ceramic coatings is if the coating isn't done properly then you can back pressure flakes of ceramic into the heads and score the pistons, rings or anything in the combustion chamber. Once again, that's if the ceramic is done cheaply.

Ceramic coating is applied on the inside and outside of mild steel. The coating actually works quite well to retain heat and stay looking new longer than stainless or non-coated headers. However, since it's mild steel, it's still subject to rust.

technically a ceramic coated design is the most efficient in terms of flowing gasses.(retains the most heat and keeps it flowing without cooling off) I think they always tend to lose the coating after time and rust out though. Low quality headers especially. That's why people go for SS more frequently. They should last the life of the vehicle.
