Greddy Evo2 Install

I finally received my Greddy EVO2 catback and was wondering if there are any pesky problems that I need to know of before I install. Is it as simple as bolt off and bolt on or is there anything else I need to know? Also, do I need to follow any torque specifications for the bolts? Thanks in advance.

FAQ section for info:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24740

As for bolting it up. Good luck on your cat to exhaust bolts. Probably rusted. I had my car on jack stands and then supported the stock exhaust on my jack (roughly at the Y in the rear) and lowered it a few inches (obviously off the hangers)to get clearance for the top bolt on the cat to exhaust connection. Put the exhaust on the hangers and assemble it being careful not to f up the finish. Torque the bolts down only after you adjust the exhaust on the hangers to make sure clearances at the tailpipe openings are symmetrical. Wipe down the rear cans and tips with denatured alcohol (or some other mild solvent) before you turn on the car. This will make sure the finish doesn't get all shyted up and colors evenly.

Hope that helps.

You might need to purchase three of these becasue of the uneven hanging position of the tips. These are just a stronger material than the stock ones and its less flexable. Therefore each side will hang at the same height. congrats on the new exhaust

If I remember correctly, it was a PITA to get the bolts loose off of the CAT, especially the top one.

no you use the stock cat. if you want to upgrade grade your cat then get the RT high flow cat instead of a straight pipe.

Spray knock loose at any bolts you need to get off. Then let it sit for awhile. I did this the night before the install when the exhaust was pretty hot and the bolts came off like butter.

so I just tried this install myself...not happening. I couldn't even get the bolts off with an impact wrench. I'm going to get it done professionally....was really hoping to get this installed fairly quick.

The "add-to-cart" in the linked page doesn't work, and there's no price listed. I need these for my setup, as the uneven hang is buggin' the crap out of me! Anyone know where else we can get this part? Or if there's another product on napaonline.com?

Are you sure man? You have an 07. I have an 04 and it's lived in NY/CT all its life, and I did my own catback job in May. As has been said, my secret was lots of PB Blaster on the 3 cat bolts the night before, and again in the morning before the job. I jacked the car as high as I could get it on four jack stands. At that point, I grabbed a standard hand torque wrench and just pulled for all I was worth. It was hard but not impossible. I'm glad I work out.

LOL sometimes the bolts are really tight and its easier at the shop cuz the car is suspended in the air with a lift so you can use angles.. plus if you force the bolts will stripe.. haha.. trust me this is from experience.. try it and if it doesnt work go to a shop.. thats my 2 cents..

Definitely use the knock loose aka PB Blaster. I bet your impact gun will have no problem after that. I didn't even have one for my installs. Just went to Autozone and got a breaker bar as a loaner tool.

So I finally got it installed by a local. Here is the video clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zl2BtAfelM

Thoughts so far are it is much louder than I thought it would be. Also, there is drone on the highway, which I read others didn't have. The tips are a little bigger than my taste and lastly, the left hangs just a bit lower than the right. Other than all of this, I am sure I will still have fun with it, but it will definitely be annoying at times.

If you ever decide to get the RT CAT.. the sound will be more hollow also at mid-higher rpms..

Sounds good but the big round cans doesn't look all that pleasing on our cars.

How does the SP2 compare to this in terms of sound and look??

i have had the SP2 for aobut 2 weeks and i am loving it. Sound is awesome in the lower RPM's and then my injen kicks in and together it sounds fantastic. The cans fit the round cut-outs in the bumper very well and it is not oversized IMO. All in all it sounds very good and i highly recomend it.

Ok, after driving around with it for a while now (> than 2 hrs) I have to say that the sound has grown on me. It sounds really good at idle and throughout the gears and the drone at crusing speeds isn't too noticeable, especailly with the radio on. I definitely love the side profile of the car with these on, but the tips definitely look too big when looking dead on from the back. Overall, I am pretty pleased with the purchase, just wish the tips weren't that big. Also, the revband feels smoother when going through the gears.

nice looks real good. when i was deciding between exhausts it was either the evo2 or the dc sports. decided on the dc sports which looks similar and is probably a little louder.

you get real used to the sound and now to me my car doesnt sound loud at all. everytime ppl hear my car for the first time they think im crazy. as for the tips, a lip kit will fix that. just bought the mugen replica lip kit so it should cover it up nicely.

I agree with any kinda of Lip itll look better.. I have the oem lip kit and it looks amazing.. but it would look even better on the Mugen rear lip because it literally wraps around the tips haha

Good looking exhaust. I want a lip kit because even my Tanabe MT tips look a little big with the OEM rear bumper. I'll get the kit next year.

yeah I agree with all of you on the lip kit. I was really hoping to get the EuroR lip kit but that fell through bc the vendor said he couldn't get CGP from Japan and it was a group buy.

The exhaust has grown on me a lot, i love the deep sound and the tips don't even bother me anymore. I was contemplating downgrading to the SP2 but I think I will keep this one.
