Dyno #'s from Comptech.....surprising?
Is it just me or are the dyno numbers from Comptech a little disappointing? I am not bashing there product at all so please don't anyone take it that way. I am just surprised that with Intake, headers, and exhaust the gain is 13.2 hp at 7000 RPM.
On my old NX2000 a header alone gave an increase of close to 12 hp.
I guess Acura has done about as much that is possible already with our little engine! Hopefully we will see some more dynos from other companies in the near future.
Cheers

I wouldn't call them surprising....realistic maybe. Of course everyone was hoping for more but I guess it just goes to show what kind of well egnineered vehicle this is stock. There might be some more gains to be had from other manufacturers and there will most likely be good gains from an ecu upgrade. For whatever reason comptech didn't run the dyno all the way up to 7400 rpm where you would expect more like 200whp if they kept the same 143lbft up to that rpm. In my estimation the biggest limitation on the tsx motor is the design of the intake manifold. I fthere was a way to retrofit a dual runner system you could get both more low end and top end power.

comptech has never been known to make power from there products...they look good sound decent and are made with great quality...ie wont break on u. but never know to be top dog when it came to power...DC sports makes a much better header, greddy makes a better exhaust and AEM and injen have the best intakes ....mix and match and you will have more power

have you read this thread?

the last few pages have some input from people in the dynos posted on the Comptech site.
