Door Edge Guard Install Help
I just bought the door edge guard and the kit came with a tool which I have no idea how to use. It looks like a little knife and from the instructions, it looks like they want you to cut into the paint at small intervals. Not sure why or what it's supposed to do.
If anyone else has installed this themselves, help would be appreciated. I'll post pics since it seems no one has posted pics of this. I live in a downtown condo and parking spaces are tight. Even if you are careful, you HAVE to open the door against the next door car to get out. Damn spaces!

That tool is to scrape the paint from the inside of the door edge so the adhesive will stick. I did not do that to mine - just applied the edge guard with a rubber mallet. I have done this to 5 cars and no edges have popped loose yet. An easy DIY job.
