dilema

Hey guys, im in a bit of a dilema. i finally have saved up enough and decided on a exhaust: Greddy Evo2 (duh?). Sounds great and i love the chrome look. BUTTTTT the one thing holding me back is how it will look on my CGP (NOT LOWERED AT ALL, AND NO BODY KIT). Wondering if anyone else got this exhaust without being lowered or having a body kit on it. I just feel like it would look of place..i would REALLY love to see a pic or 2 so i can just order it. OR: do i save up a bit more and a the a-spec body kit, and put off the exhaust till ATLEAST mid-summer?...

Exhaust, will be my very last mod, which I already had on my car for awhile (Greddy SP2).

Ask yourself, why do you want an exhaust? For performance, lol, it doesn't help much. For comestic, you can when you brag about it when your friend check out ya car, or when people driving behind you. Which leads to the real purpose of exhaust --> To draw attention.

You can draw attention when...
1) Your car is faster than stock (not by a margin), at least most possible bolt-on mods are in ya car, to back up your noisy exhaust...
2) Your car is ALL-SHOW no GO, which, you have a nice/unique set of bodykit/lipkit; lower on a nice set of coilover, and some hot rims...
3) Would be perfect if 1&2 is accomplish...

Now, when you have an exhaust, and draw attention to others to CHECK OUT (look) your car where there's NOTHING to show, how pity. I don't wanna call that rice, but, what's the point for the exhaust, tell me?

With your current mods on your car, the best next mod would be LipKit, follow by rims/suspension, then last exhaust. I'm not sure if you had check out the Evo2 in real, it's HUGE (maybe able to fit 2 fists). If you don't have a rear lip to go w/ exhaust, it will be obvious, and weird... (MY OPINION ONLY).

Chuson- you are a mind reader! no joke! I was seriously contemplating going almost the same route you recommend, minus one thing, I was thinking about getting lowered(2 inches), lip kit, rims, and then finish it with exhaust, to tie it all together(me and my friend with a 350z are going the same route(though, he got rims 1st and is now thinking getting lowered, then cats, then finish with exhaust as the last big mod)). But I LITERALLY just talked to my parents about all this, and they said for me to do the exhaust, and then just stop till NEXT fall(2009) and I can get a car ..i wont say what kind, because i know bashing of my age will ensue..Its just a REALLY nice car. So either i do ONLY exhaust, and get a new car in about 1 1/2 years, or do everything, over a long period of time..

Well, I've been ya age long time ago. There's different priority @ different age. When you grown, you start to look into every perspectives before your act, to minimize regret.

I would think, getting a lipkit will absolutely enhance your car's look, and you will not regret it. Why?

I'm not sure if you drive a 5AT or 6MT, but no matter which one, it make noises. 6MT will be better cause you (your parent) shift in different gear often, and they will get used to it. Where if yours is 5AT, and your parent like to cruise (can be high speed but @ low rpm), your exhaust will have annoying *drool* noise on the highway. An exhaust only sounds good when you hit high rpm often, or have other mod such as CAI + High-flow cat to contribute more noise in low rpm driving. Other than that... I don't know, your parent will hate it to death...

Yeah, I have an Auto. and my parents rarely drive my car, maybe once or twice a month for a short trip to the grocery store or something, no more than that. Since I'm the only one driving the car, I should love it. and I do have an Injen Cai, so that will contribute to the sound/gain. Finding such a great deal on the exhaust has really made me want to get it. If I can get an OEM Lip Kit for 650-700, I would jump on it and delay the exhaust.

PS- Someone please show me pictures of an EVO2 on a unlowered/no body kit TSX! please and thank you

Nice. Too bad I can't find any pix for you on a UN-lowered/no body kit TSX w/ EVO2.

GL w/ ya exhaust.

I only got my exhaust cause I got a better deal than you. $400 local on a almost-brand new SP2... lol

haha my parents rarely drives my car too! whattthaa I agree that the evo2 will look weird on a stock car since they are HUGE. I might just go for a greddy sp2 which is a lil bit smaller if im correct.

hm... the differences b/w SP2 and Evo2 is non-existence from my observation. I parked beside another PWP w/ EVO2 and the diameter of the tip is about the same. HOWEVER, the SP2 does appear to be a tad smaller due to a "thicker" end tip, where as the EVO2 is a thin-can tip.

I hate the fact that the exhaust tips are massive, but it does have a nice sound. The size of the tips say rice all over it, but that is just my opinion.

if you are going for looks, get the exhaust last. that way, you will be spending your money on things that really improve the looks of your car. however, who knows if that exhaust deal will be available for much longer.......
