I was looking at the instruction for the rear bodykit, and it indicated that the stock exhaust tip is to be removed and replaced with a different one. I thought they were the same. Do i need a replacement one if i were to install the rear skirt?

You dont really have to remove the stock tips if you dont want to but the replacement tips are about an 1 inch longer to support the look of the body kit. The replacement tips comes with the rear body kit so you dont have to worry about ordering replacements at all.

on a somewhat related note, if you do remove the tips make sure you use a lot of wd40 or something to remove the rust (assuming there will be some) from the nut holding the tip on.

The extended tips are also there to prevent melting of the exhaust opening of the lower spoiler.

Can someone WITH the OEM kit and WITH the longer tips please let me know some kind of measurement as to how far in/ot the end of the tip is supposed to be in relation to the bumper?

Reason I ask is because I just bough tmy PWP TSX (2004) and had them put a kit on. Since it didnt come from the factory as such, I'm afraid they might JUST put the kit itself on and not put the new exhaust tips on. I want to be sure they do so and measurements will definately help this cause.

Actually, I discovered after installing my kit that the replacement tips were the same length and diameter as the stock ones I removed. I had figured they would be longer, but nope.

Anyone else actually compare the two?

The only difference is the placement of the mounting ring inside the tip. The tip for the body kit has the ring 1/2" closer to the the rear of the tip, effectively moving the tip outward by 1/2" so it sits flush with the lip.

No, that ring is welded inside the tip. And it's split open from there back...........

This is the stock one-the ring is right on the edge on the new one.....

So, if I bought the bodykit from Acura and said "install this", they technically HAVE to put the longer tips on, right? Anyone know if the long tips come part-and-parcel with the underbody/aero kit (not getting the trunk spoiler, just the skirts).??

The car is used, being bought from the dealer. The least I'd expect would be new tips to go with the bodykit, but, I want to know for sure so that when I pick it up I don't have any surprises.

Anyone know the measurement of the end of the tip, to a fixed point on the bodykit? If it's less, then I will be asking for new tips.

The tips come in the box with the rear lip; they should install the new ones and give you the old ones.

IM not quite follownig this, if i have an aftermarket exhaust (fujitsubo) am i going to have trouble installing my OEM kit?

I don't think you should. This is talking about the OEM exaust tip. They had to make it stick out further with the OEM body kit, otherwise it would look funny, so there's another tip replacement for the OEM bodykit.

The Fuji seems to stick out a little more than the stock exhaust, so it should be great with the OEM kit.
