Cold air intake, heat sheild?

i know people make fun of the injen sri but my question is if i made a heat shield around the injen intake as a sri would the performance be regained as if it was a cai? im just worried about hydro-lock as big puddles are everywhere and it rains alot where i am

I'll assume you'll get a number of different opinions (and that's all they are) and I'll give you mine. I don't care what anyone else says, I think the claimed performance and/or mileage gains of the SRI or CAI are wishful thinking. The SRI sounds cool and that's the only reason I run it (and I don't recall anyone making fun of it).

I got. An AEM sri on my tsx and it had powerful gains on my tsx and my short ram intake came with a custom heatshield that was fit perfect for my car?. It ended up costing me 250$ but you wont regret that buy.. But i've seen people buy custome heatshields for their intakes you just got to look around.
