CAI to SRI - Difficulty and Heatshield Questions

How difficult is it to convert from CAI mode to SRI? Can I just disconnect the middle junction part and pull the second piece up from the engine bay or would I need to peel off the cover to get to the wheelwell and remove the portion pointing down?

Also, I heard that it's best to go SRI with a heatshield. Is this true? What are potential damages from sucking in hotter air?

Thanks!!!

You have to go in throught the wheel well. The filter is too big to fit through the hole in the engine bay.

Thanks, and can I just turn the wheel to the left and get access to the lower portion?

Plus, is a heatshield required? Thanks.

yes you can just turn the wheel and pull back the plastic paneling. if you are talking about the honda heatshield gasket, its not required at all, it will just further help reduce the intake temp.

Hey. Thanks. Nope, I'm talking about the filter heatshield.
