Buddy Club Racing Spec Condenser question

I installed this on my 04 6MT today. I ran one wire each from alternator, throttle body, and transmission to the collector. On initial reports, I'm not sure it's actually doing ANYthing. I didn't really notice a smoother engine start, and throttle response seems unaffected. Maybe the effects of these kits are more pronounced in Automatic transmission cars. That, or they're just plain snake-oil (which I knew was a risk when I decided to experiment with the kit). It definitely doesn't seem to have HURT anything, though.

Here's my key question: can the blue LEDs on the Condenser unit itself drain my battery? I noticed that these lights remain on even when the car is off. The last thing I want to do is come out from the office one day to find that my ricey blue LEDs have left my car dead.

If that's a risk, this kit is going back on eBay where it came from.

Thanks to anyone who can help...

- Matt

yes, it'll drain your battery through out time.

Any time the first feature of a "performance part" is cool blue lights, it probably doesn't do what it should. Just my two cents.

Think about it first man... LEDs. Extremely low draw. Not exactly a fantastic decision on their part to include always-on LEDs in the first place, but they will only drain your battery negligebly faster than your car sitting there doing nothing without them.

Yeah, thanks for the input everyone. I agree with Reach's logic. Again, so far no negatives to come of the condenser kit, but no noticable positives either. I'm starting to think 6MT TSX's don't benefit from this mod; in my searching I've found 5AT guys mentioning improved throttle response a lot. Maybe that's the key.

It's called the Buddy Club Racing Spec Condenser, and it's a 2-in-1 unit for voltage stabilizer and grounding wires. Supposed to tie the car's electrical system together better resulting in quicker/smoother engine starts, less dimming of lights/accessories under load, smoother idle, and maybe better throttle response.

The thing is, I've got none of that. :-p

I would like to see a controlled test with hard facts on such product to validate its effectiveness. It could be an interesting topic on MythBusters.

I think those things are more for JDM bling. I'm sure it looks nice under the hood, so hey, at least there's that

This (nearly brand new) kit is now for sale in the Black Market if anyone is interested. Maybe you'll get more out of it than I did.
