Better High-Beams ?

I've had my TSX for about 37,000 miles and fifteen months. I like the car a lot - right size for me, good balance of performance, cost, looks.

I have one item I would like to improve: High beams are not a good color match to the low beams, and they're not quite what I'd like for brightness. I have driven a couple of TL loaners, and I've decided I like the TL headlights better.

Aar there any technical guru's our there who have either considered (or done) a swap putting in the 2004 High/Low HID unit in place of the TSX low beam unit? It looks possible in total size. I'm passably trained in electrics with a friend who does electronics design -- and I'm used to doing most of my own mechanical work. I'm mostly concerned with the physical fitof the units.

I'm not interested in the Euro-R units, they have the same high and low beams I've already got. Please share any experiences you may have.

Thanks !

OMG....its captain Obvious!

To answer your question though, I have not heard of anyone on the board that did a swap for the bi-xenons on the TL to the TSX. I think the physical fitting of the TL light are larger than the TSX.

Would be an awesome mod though. I am definitely interested if you get it done. I love the bi-xenons I have on my X5.

Install PIAA/Silverstar or similar bulbs, they produce a bright white. Very close to Xenon.

Color match?...

I think the brightness is OK, but whatever floats your boat. I predict that this will be a hard mod to do.

and is a very quick job too.. should take 30 min tops for someone without any experience with bulbs.. all you have to do is replace the bulb..

Oh yeah i hate that, great part of about my car, I have wigwags set up on the brights allready so just turn thouse on for a second shuts most people up, prob gonna do new bulbs soon too, really want to do them to the Foglights but as i learned putting in my CAI, the fogs are a bitch to take out, the whole yellow foglights/brights contrastin the Projectors bothers me more then it should lol

speaking of which, anyone know of any headway on the foglight post, like 3 people were gonna try something, and no one ever reported the results

Just out of curiosity, isn't it illegal to emulate an emergency vehicle?
