Best first mod for TSX
i've just bought my new NBP tsx in sept '06 and i was wondering what mod would be the best to increase performance in autocross and still not void my warranty.

For autocrossing, you'd have to upgrade your suspension. The stock TSX suspension is pretty good, so if funds are a problem, get a rear sway bar first. Then lower your car with Tein SS or Tein Flex (for damper adjustability while on the track).
Basically, anything you modify on your car could void the warranty (partially) if it did cause the trouble. If you're that worried about warranty, then don't do any mods. You shouldn't worry too much about mods, since the dealer is supposed to prove that it's the cause of the failure.

hi all, thanks for all the advice. I checked out the threads and i'm still not quite sure which mods would void the warranty. I'm deciding between a rear sway bar and an injen CAI, which of these would be less warranty intrusive?

For autocrossing, just learn how to drive. And experienced driver can be a couple of seconds faster than you in your own car. Remember, too, that you'll be moving to a different class when you start modifying the car.
Good luck.

Take the car bone stock to the track first. Then, YOU decide which area needs improvement after learning how the TSX behaves.
In my opinion, the best first "mod" for the track that has absolutely zero effect on the warranty of any component on the TSX would be better tires. The stock Michelins will scream like a whore on the turns -- even when you aren't close to their limits.
Usually, an experienced driving instructor tells you to turn off the radio, roll down your windows, and "listen to your tires." In our case, you almost have to ignore the stocks and turn the radio UP.

You don't want to show up with a swaybar, reflash, and new tires only to find out your mods suddenly bumped you into the STX class and competing against cars with 5L V8's.
