I know a couple TLs on the board has done it, but I've never heard of anyone with a TSX have. I would like to know if it is possible if we have a stock Navi and what kind of additional tools do we need.

Where are you guys located? There is a guy up in the bay area that did a very nice intall. It wasn't a TSX but I'm sure he can do one. He cut a whole in the license plate and rear trunk. Looked great. I PMed him for a price and it was very reasonable.

I'm not sure about this. I don't think it is legal though. That's one of the things keeping me from doing the mod. That and the fact that I wonder how often I would actually use it.

Yeah, I'm sure there are smaller. I think a reason why people go with that one is that it's inexpensive, but performs well. It looks like the same camera that I've seen on Ebay. If it is it's 0 lux, so you can see at night.

If I have to use a large camera, I would simply convert one of the backup lights and mount the camera in the socket. It has the additional benefit of the protective lens.

I think installation will be quite difficult, and do we need another piece of hardware (like SHOND) so that it allows us to hook up the camera? Rumours have said that for our 04/05, there's a little plug in our glove box that can hook up the camera. Again, no prove about it...maybe someone that's experienced in it can help us out.

The SNHOND3 is an AUX converter for Audio. You'll need DOM's NaviToDVD converter or something similar that has a video input and/or a backup camera input.

Had to rehash this thread for a sec... Has anyone had any luck finding someone who has installed one on their TSX?

Also, does anyone know if there's a separate fuse for the backup lights?

I'd like a link to the above backup cam or another good small one. Right now I have the exact same one as in the license plate install, but I'm a little disgusted with its size now that I've received it. I'm going to try to install the backup cam to the navi unit directly (utilizing the Odyssey method) and see if it works. If that doesn't, I'll just use my Dom's.

I've heard this is possible with the new (ie TSX 06) Nav system, but I could not find any details on how to do it. I read a little about it on the TL forum but there was not enough detail. Do you have a link to this method?

I have had a Back up camera installed on my 04 TSX nav for like 4 months now. I installed it when I added the video input and the xbox 360. It works great, I cant remember where I got the camera but it was 200 and it is molded into the chrome license plate frame. It looks smooth and classy not cheap. I will add some pix later when I have my car at my house. The Mod is great because I have it so it can see the bumper and behind and parking is so easy now when you need to fit in a tight spot. I use it so much. It is connected to the reverse light wire which I metered to find in the trunk. If you have questions I am happy to answer them.

Xbox360 install.
