Anyone with a Fujita CAI cut the pipe to make an SRI/hybrid?

I was wondering if anyone had modified/cut their Fujita CAI to make an SRI much like the K&N/Injen designs. I ask b/c it looks like there would be enough room for a filter to fit in the open space behind the battery and directly above the opening where the resonator tube used to connect to the stock airbox (not the tapered cone style filter included with the Fujita, but maybe a slimmer/shorter one like the AEM filter from the SRI). And as a side note, what would be the best way to cut the aluminum piping?

I have a Fujita and recent heavy rainstorms have me worried about the filter getting wet (hydrolock concerns) as well as being able to service/inspect the filter without removing the driver's side wheel removing the fender liner.

Any thoughts?

You can buy the AEM bypass valve. I believe you'll need to cut your intake pipe, and then you squeeze in the bypass valve. If your filter ever gets submerged, the intake will start providing air through the bypass valve.
