another question for JDM headlight owners

when you received your headlights and installed them was it necessary to adjust the aim of the headlights or do they come adjusted properly.

Yes, you'll need to adjust them, its not hard at all. Check the manual.

i ask because with one of the headlights it seemed like there was too much "play/movement" with the projectors. but then i turned the adjustment clockwise a couple times that changes the aim up and down and the play went away. i haven't installed the headlights yet but right now i'm just paranoid that something is wrong with them.

What exactly moves around? The inner housing itself that hold both low and hig beams?

Cuz there shouldn't be any play or "free" movement at all. The only movement that should happen is when you turn the adjusting screws.

Did you buy them new?

there are two bolts that can be cranked to adjust left to right and up and down positioning of the projectors, on one of my headlights the projector section was somewhat loose until i turned both bolts a couple times. now it sits in there solidly, i just hope that it's aiming in the right direction with that amount of turns...guess there is no way of knowing until i install them on saturday!

J, don't mess/stress too much. Headlights are kinda sensistive, as I know you already know.

The play you are mentioning is probably due to the spring-loaded adjusters. I advise that you install them and adjust them to aim the beam. THAT IS IT. Again, try not to 'find' something wrong.

I promise, if something is messed up I will swap it out, but not if it looks like you've been tinkering too much.

.......and when are you going to be the guinea pig and purchase the 06 headlights? There's been a lot of talk lately in how compatible the front end is to the 04-05 models. Mad props if you'd be the first one to test fit them, cause I think everyone would want to know if they'd fit, including me.......

There is only a very slight difference, but we sell the 04-05 and the 06...so why not just get the right ones?

The 04-05....look nothing like these....These actually have a nice blue tint to them, with a nicely shaped lens (linning)

If I were to buy the 06'sas the "guinea pig" and they don't fit, and I didn't damage them whatsoever, could I exchange them?

the side markers are not turn signals they are just your driving lights.

Lookin hot man!

For those 04 owners who were talkin in the thread, I'm fairly sure that you can have 06 headlights if you also swap in an 06 front bumper and grille. The headlights will not fit with your 04 bumper though, sorry.

Still looking to do a test fit with someone, but I'm pretty confident the front end swap will work. (read: sorry, didn't get around to doing it this weekend, will be at least 2 weeks until I can do it now, as I'll be travelling in a bit.)

why doesn't someone just test fit the USDM 06 headlights into an 04/05 to see if those fit? They are the same dimension as the JDM headlights. I dunno why some of ya got to wait to test fit the JDM 06 headlights.

I still have $20 that says no bi-xenons on the 07. If you really want DRLs, you can wire that up easy enough.
