Aftermarket alarm system ..
Anyone have a aftermarket alarm system install on their TSX? I am looking at the DEI made pager alarm system, such as Viper and the new company Shelby alarm system. The place I plan on getting it swears by the Shelby alarm system with pager because he told me the Pager remote by DEI now suck and brake easily. The Shelby looks pretty good, battery back siren, dual stage shock sensor, pager remote and the usual stuff..

I would get a system from directed. They have many brands but all sell the same top of the line unitunder different names. It just depends which line your local places carries. Here are several of the lines.
Viper 791xv

Clifford Matrix 3.5
Python 881XP

All 3 of these are exactly the same alarm systems. Don't ask me why they sell it under 3 names. each one has a different color remote but they do exactly the same thing and function in exactly the same way. I have the Viper 791x in my car and my mom has the Python 881xp on her conversion van. I have checked everything and they work exactly the same. Clifford is also in the process of building some super alarm with a transponder range of 2miles however this thing was announced at last years CES show and has still not been released. It has been stated though that it is going to cost around 1k for that system though.

I picked up a Shelby CS 500S w/lcd pager remote for $300 installed. Comes standard with battery back up siren too ($40-$50 option with other brands*) and the usual stuff such as dual stage shock sensor and so forth. I'm very happy with the price and features. Lifetime warranty as the other brands too.
I saw the defective and warranty rate on the compustar.. it's pretty high. They have the longest range, but $80 for a new pager remote every year is

i have the clifford matrix 10.5.its a pretty good alarm.i havent had any problems with them.i've had cliffords on all my cars in past before and have never had any problems with them.As for the remote....they're actually pretty good.i cant see how they would break unless you're really careless with it.The 10.5 came with 2 remotes but i think the 3.5 comes with only 1.That would be the only drawback is that you have to pay to get a 2nd remote

Just out of curiosity... How have you seen the defective and warranty rate on them?
