aero-turbine performance exhaust

a girl i know's dad is a dealer for these muffler things....

http://www.aeroexhaust.com/index.html

do you think there are potential downsides to this exhaust?

supposedly it
* Reduced Temperatures
* Increased Horsepower
* Increased Torque
* Increased Fuel Economy
* Less Engine Wear & Tear

but i'm skeptical. anyone have experience with one of these?

Certainly looks interesting enough.
I'm always dubious though of claims that you get hp AND mpg in the one package, so I share your scepticism.
The bit about wear and tear is a tad hard to swallow, similarly the reduced temperatures - unless they can empirically prove their product lowers the turbo temp. Don't see any thermal images showing it though! Most pics are graphs on mpg - not one showing a rolling road readout. Hell, the girly with the Accord (presuming a V6 3L) says hers went from 22 to 29. I'd like to have seen receipts and odometer showing that increase.
Also, they talk about sound, yet the video they've done (and the audio if you search Honda) aren't exactly very professional and don't really get me excited.

It smacks of typical American late-night commercials trying to persuade you the new! whatchyamacallit XXTV0RS65001 superduper exercise machine that targets parts of your body you never knew you had (and probably don't have!) whilst ONLY costing you 3 simple payments of $999.99 with 5 years to return it if not satisfied.
So, where do I sign up then......?

Does look nice though.

i remember the girl i know saying that she got about 50 miles more per tank out of her 2000 (or so) chevy blazer.

but considering that it's probably about a 23 gallon tank, that's not a huge improvement.

maybe a retailer would be able to give some more info (dynos, heat charts, etc)...

i think one of the retailers near me was a meineke. they're dependable, right?

I'll make a point of contacting them and ask these questions, and see what response I get.

Meh, I wouldn't buy it. The OEM exhaust is good enough for me.

LOL yeah. I think they forgot to add that the 'vette also had LT headers, a cam, and a tune.

Well realisticly, a better flowing exhaust will give you better MPG, the downside is you produce more emissions, and add to the fact that its 70 degrees outside right now in January... psh....

I think this particular thing seems like a bit of Gimmic However....
