Active Noise Cancellation

Just about the only complaint I have with the TSX is the road noise. Has anyone implemented an active noise cancellation system into their vehicle?

Are there head units that support active noise cancellation? Can other radios be installed in the TSX in addition to the stock unit (I don't want to loose steering wheel controls)?

What would be the best way to go about active noise cancellation?

I can't think of any other way to reduce noise without adding weight to our already heavy cars.

Changing the tires to Bridgestones 960 and now I have Conti DWS has really lowered the noise level of my 06 TSX. It can still be a little noisy on really old pavement at hwy speeds. I haven't own a Honda or Acura that did not have a lot of road noise.

My road noise is amplified because I overinflated my tires to 42lbs for fuel efficiency. I might try lowering it a little and seeing how that affects me, but I'm averaging 30mpg regardless of highway or stop and go traffic now.

Even with soft tires, I'd still like to know how feasible active noise cancellation is. It's a very easy concept and should be cheap to implement.

I put damplifier pro in my doors and trunk and it helps a bit but to really make a diff you need to put it in the floor pan and use mass loaded vinyl too. See second skin audio for their stuff. Way cheaper than dynamat and better quality.

Thread is pretty dead, but I guess I'd be curious too if the OP made any progress (my advice would have been to buy a different car if he was that worried about road noise (active noise cancellation? In a TSX?). Hmm.....
