3 Questions...Wax, Oil and DVD Aux inputs?

I have three rookie questions:

What type or types of wax does everyone use?

Should I go full synthetic after the first oil change?

Does the Nav system have Aux inputs for a DVD player?

Thanks in advance!

Should I go full synthetic after the first oil change? Can't really answer that question as I haven't made the switch yet.

Does the Nav system have Aux inputs for a DVD player? Nope. You need to get a special adapter and modify some wiring for it to work. Do a search and you should get some good threads on that subject.

I use Nu Finish. Look very good, Last long. Polymers based. Best waxes are usually with carnauba

Never. Don't waste your money. Just follow Acura schedule and specs

On that note, should I have the dealer do the Oil Changes or do them myself?

Or will me doing them myself somehow void the warranty and or resale/ trade in value?

If the sun's on fire, why isn't there any smoke?

Doing oil changes competently and saving all your recepits will not void your warranty. But if you know in your heard that you shouldn't own a wrench, then don't do them.

And there are seperate forum sections for FAQs, Wax, and Audio.

It won't void the warranty, but for a new car, I think that it is preferable to have a genuine dealer receipt. Oil changes were just 28.47$CAD txs in last year at my Honda dealer. The guy who bought my car was impressed by the pile of receipts I had in almost 7 years and yes, I got a good price.

Really, that number has been around for sometime? that suxs...#16 was actually a fairly decent protective wax, the hardest of all waxes. The only issue with it, is application and you had to be on top of it and do a small section of it when putting it on, otherwise you'd have a hell of a work out trying to take it off.

For me, I use Zaino Bros method. Labor intensive and somewhat expensive, but I like the results.

A dealership must prove that you did something wrong in order to void you warranty. You're own oil changes is the least proven method, what they look for is aftermarket applications such as aftermarket air intakes or filters (that might be linked to a TPS sensor or MAF sensor), larger rims+tires (which they might link to worn wheel bearings, especially on Tahoe's and older Escalades), and sometimes aftermarket stereos (for electrical issues and whatnot...that is still a far stretch though).

If you are going to do your own oil changes, save ALL of your reciepts. I'm probably going to do my own since the dealership wants an outrageous price even though I'm really lazy these days to do any kind of vehicle repair. The only thing I don't like about Honda vehicles is the damn oil filter is all the way in the back in between the firewall and the rear of the engine block and it's much easier to get to it on a lift than do it at home with a jack & stands.

Oh my. You certainly cover a lot of ground. Tons and tons of discussion on all these topics.

For the wax question, I suggest you search in Wash & Wax in Off Topic
For aux input questions, you should try Audio and Video in Off Topic
As far as the oil change question, search for "synthetic" or "oil change" or "Mobil 1"

Good Luck
