2006 JDM Euro R Body Kit Install Help
I purchased the entire 2006 JDM Euro R Body Kit from BPT back in April and it finally showed up a few weeks ago. I've been really busy the last few weeks, but I did manage to slap on the sides quick last Wednesday. I've installed an 04/05 TSX OEM kit before so the sides were very similar. However the rear lip is a bit different and since the kit comes with no instructions or hardware I need some input just to be sure I'm headed in the right direction.
To me this rear lip looks a lot like the 04-05 Euro R rear lip. Can some of you who have the older Euro R kit take a look at these pics and tell me if it looks pretty similar and if the mounting points look the same? I did a little test fit and it will mount perfect, but I'm not sure I have the right hardware to do the job. Morris (from BPT) assured me that it would mount entirely with existing hardware, but I've found that there is no way that can be true.
I know I have the 4 Self-Tapping Screws and 4 Spring Nuts for the each side of rear wheel wells. Besides that there are 8 more fastening points. 2 on each side and 4 across back. It appears that the 2 on each side take either a Torx Bolt or a Step Bolt. These bolts will have to threaded "downward" so I wonder if it would be easier to remove the bumper? Or do I have the clearance to get a ratchet under there and tighten them up? The 4 mounting points across the back are what really have me a bit puzzled. They appear to only need 4 of the black plastic clips that hold a lot of the body trim tucked under the car. However I know that on the 04/05 kits you had to install clip nuts and use various sized step bolts to fasten it. In fact I know the 04/05 OEM kit took 6 clips and bolts across the back. Do you think that all I need to use are plastic clips to fast the rear to the back bumper? I mean it's a very light lip and maybe they figured all the step bolts were overkill? With the bolts being used to fasten the sides and the strong adhesive strips maybe that's all they intended to use on the 4 rear spots on the back?
Any input would be appreciated. I can get better pics if needed of anything that would help me know for sure what I need to use to install this properly. I think I may be the first one to order the entire kit. I know I've PM'd activeaero about the front installation and it sounds very straight forward and I won't need any additioal hardware for it.
Thanks, Chris

Yeah, you need to use the pop clips. There should already be similar holes in your 06 rear bumper that line up and I thought there were pop clips in them already. I would just go grab some of the pop clips off ebay or at your local dealer and use those.

I got all of my parts for my Euro R from Acura of Escondido. I just told them i needed all of the hardware for the USDM bodykit and they shipped me all of the parts I needed. Good luck can't wait to see it installed

very nice nice and simple looking...certainly alot better looking than the OEM kit...from looking at your pics...the sides doesn't look noticeable or any different than stock...with that being said...do you think it will look odd if i got just the front & rear? i know on my '04 OEM kit...the sides flared out more...
