Is your TSX garage kept?
One more for the road. I didn't see any threads on it, but out of curiosity, who has their TSX garage kept? How many people out there are apartment dwellers like myself who sadly leave their car out there to brave the elements. Houston is full of steaming heat and lots and lots of rain, salty air, etc. This is going to be my first "luxury" car, and it just sucks to leave it outside. I've seen garage kept cars a year old that look unbelievable compared to what my TSX will probably look like in a year. But hey, what fun is it to own if you don't use or abuse right!?! I'll be waiting with a tazer for the first kid to run his scooter into the rear end or throw a football at the fender.

I garage it the days I wash or wax.
Other days, it's in the driveway or the streets, but it's alright because I live at a deadend in a safe town
iamhomin, who's car was never broken into or vandalized.

I'm fortunate to own my own home and have a cozy garage for my TSX to live in. I do , however have to leave it parked outside for 8 or so hours during the day. I think someone who has to keep his car parked outside all the time can keep it looking just as good as a garaged car (with a little luck). It just takes more attention to detail, more frequent washings and waxings, etc. I hope you have good luck keeping bad things away from your pride and joy.

Stays garaged in a parking garage attached to my apartment building. Keeps it nice and cool in the summer, reasonably warm in the winter. Does get dusty. And, of course, the valet parkers park it. So far no nicks or dings.
Houston is not kind to cars, animals (except maybe frogs) and people. Thought I was going to grow mildew in my armpits when I first moved there for school....................

To get covered parking in my complex would require moving to a new unit, not happening! Across the driveway is a playground. I swear the kids are always throwing things and riding bikes and stuff, you know being kids. I'm sure an accident will happen sooner or later. Work is cool, I can park in bfe with all the other car freaks. You know, the end of the lot where everybody is double parked to avoid door dings. I guess you got to take the bad in with the good.

In the garage. Matter of fact, I moved into my house last year and waited to buy the TSX based on the fact that I would be able to garage it. If you've seen any of my wash and wax threads, you'll know why.

Underground parking beneath my condo complex. Not exactly a closed space because there are ground-level openings with bars that allow wind and dust in, but reasonably protected from theft and vandals.
Work parking varies depending on where my contracts are. The last one was a pain. Indoor parking but a bunch of idiots who didn't understand that it was possible to open a door without smashing it into the adjacent car. I improvised a neat little vehicle protection system using a piece of bungee cord and an 8' section of foam water-pipe insulation. I'd just hook it up running along the side of the car.

Funny you should say that. When i bought my TSX i was in an aparment complex. I was a bit leary to keeping it outside. You should have seen me during the first huricane we had. I moved my car outa my end spot (i had a spot where i had only one person parking next to me). Soon as i moved my car the tree that gave my car shade fell right on the now empty spot. Someones definatly watching out for my TSX.
But any way back to the apartment stuff. Yes it was a bit of a hassle to was n wax my car, speically since theres no shade to wax in. The TSX was through 3 huricanes for about 3 or 4 months outside. Honestly, if u wax the car good once a month or so, n get the car washed at like mobil or something with touchless car wash and then when u get back wet the car down n put that wax as u dry stuff on it u should be in good shape.
Noww, my TSX is in a garage. Three car garage filled to the ceiling with boxes (we just moved). The second day we were in the house i pushed all the boxes over so i can fit my car in on spot. I get teased becuase my car is the only car in the garage, while my parents put thier car out in the street (we live on a dead end block (acutally a coldesack sp.) But oh well, my car is very spoiled, it barely goes a day or two w.o a vacuming, or something.

Outside in my driveway( quite spacey), like iamhomin, my town has very little crime , and i worry none about anything hapening to my whip. worst thread are the garnders who blow the leaves all over the yard and birds that take dumps on it.

Heated garage at home and unheated covered parking at work. In the summer, I'll leave the TSX outside if the weather is good. Security isn't really an issue in my neighborhood and with my kids always racing in and out of the garage with bikes, skateboards and scooters, it might actually be safer outside.

I'm fortunate enough to have my baby garaged at home and at work. One of the benefit working in Westwood (Los Angeles). I think the only time my car is not garaged is when the first night I got the car.

interesting you should talk about living in an apatment and buying a luxury car. I thought long and hard about this and I decided to buy a home first about 8 months ago. A home with a 2 car garage at that too. Now I'm ready for a car (well in 3 months) and I have a big garage to put it in.
