Young girl needs help

Hey, guys....help a young, naive girl out here with a TSX purchase....please!!!

I have recently been run through the ringer by various dealerships around town. I am looking for a 48 month lease with 15k miles. The best deal I have been offered thus far on a 2004 TSX non-Navi is a cap cost of $25,735 or $1,300 of MSRP. The salesman said that this is the steepest discount he has given anyone to date. Is this a good deal, or am I still being taken advantage of with being a girl?

Realistically, what should be the best deal I can get a TSX for? Plus, the dealers I've been talking to only have a few color combo's I want coming in March and no earlier.

I still think I should be able to get a bit more off the cap cost...

Help a young girl out....<batting eyes>.

That sounds like a decent deal but not a great deal. Now that we are actually in 04 and with the 05's probably only 6-8 months off that price should be moving closer to invoice. I'd shoot for the $25000-25250 range.

Thanks, AsahiToro! Most dealers keep giving me the ole "song and dance" about how they can't keep the cars in stock and they don't have to budge off of MSRP if they don't want to. Then when you haggle for more off those car sales guys rant and rave like I'm asking for their first born child or something.

No problem on the help BSU, I hope you can find a better deal. Those guys are going to dig in and give you every reason why they can't sell the car for your price. It's your money, you worked hard for it so negotiate the best deal you can. You'll be surprised how many of these guys cave in more if you show them that you are serious about buying and offer a fair price where they'll still make money. It's the end of the month which will help you some too. Good luck.

It's almost not a song and dance. The TSXs are nearly backordered depending on area. The deal you received is better than average.

Although a 48 mo. lease isn't great. You'd be paying more in the long run that just buying it on a 60 mo. finance or a 36 mo. lease.

I paid $25600 for my 5AT non-navi w/ fogs & cargo net. There are only two acura dealers in town so I didn't have too much of a choice considering at the time there were no TSXs available in my color choice within a 250mi radius. You should also check edmunds.com for the TMV price for your area. Then go and start dealing $500 above the invoice price upwards to the TMV price.

Also be careful not to let the dealers get you back at other points of the transaction. Sometimes you might get a really low purchase price but they might not give you as much for your trade-in; and shop around for the best lease deal, as they might charge you a higher money factor if you aren't paying attention. And don't tell them what you want your monthly payment to be, cuz then they'll pull all sorts of rabbits out of the hat to get you that number.

In short, do your homework with the numbers, as there is a lot of room in there for fudging in their favor. :sqnteek: You can learn all there is to know about leasing (all the numbers) from http://www.leaseguide.com

A 48 month lease is really pushing it like Lung Fu said. I would also recommend sticking with 36 if you can but if you really need to, go out to 42 if its an offered term.

Good luck, hope you can have a TSX soon!

A little more? Try $8K more. That's not cheap. However, it IS worth it IMO...

What's the payment? Be careful with this type of negotiating on a lease. Dealers have more ways to play with the numbers on a lease than a purchase. Most consumers are not as educated with leases. If they are honest they will have no problem with giving you a print out of the lease work sheet. This will have all fees, down payments, money factor, taxes, etc...

Make sure you are comfortable with the payment. Also be sure that the dealer quotes your payment incuding sales tax. This is a trick many dealer use to strong arm buyers into a larger payment. If you get the work sheet we can tell for sure what type of a deal you are getting.

good luck

Most dealers, especially here in the DC area can't keep TSX on the lot. The one i got mine from had a waiting list and most people are paying full sticker to get them. The deal they are offering isn't that bad considering demand for this car.

I knew some ppl that went to Ball State, I used to goto nearby Anderson University in Anderson, In. I used to go up there almost every week if I didn't drive to Purdue.

As for the TSX, there are plenty of them in stock here at the local dealers. Just have to do research and find the best price and give the dealer an offer and negotiate.

The chauvinism on this forum is sickening. Can a female contribute to discussions here without half a dozen of you asking to see her photograph? Go to a singles forum if you want to check out girls.

On topic; you only think you will drive 15k miles in 4 years? Thats only 10 miles a day. Leases can be financial disasters if you exceed the mileage terms.

I think she meant 15K/year, which is fairly high for a lease.

Oh take a chill pill. The responses have been in good taste and in the spirit of the original post. The original post mentioned a "young, naive girl" and closed with "<batting eyes>". Stop being so uptight and get a life.

Leg Humpers are everywhere.
As the last guy said just relax. She didnt have to say "young, naive girl" and "<batting eyes>" to ask a question. w/ a screen name like BSUgofer, no one would have known she was a girl and she made a point to say shes young and naive.

What's up with the "48 months lease terms are bad" in comparison to 36 month? With Acuras, the 48 month term usually results in the lowest monthly. Yes, you will pay more in the long run, but you'll have the car longer... personally, I'd shoot for the lowest monthly, but that's just me...

Wow...a fellow Naptown resident?

I bought mine in August out of state. The two dealers here were not all too pleasant to deal with.

Cool man. McGrath Acura was great. Definetely would head back up there when I buy a new Acura.

Nice showroom, too.

Nicer than the ones around here.

Hoping to head down to that Ferrari dealership down the street sometime, though. Some day....

TSXHokie, get a grip on yourself. How can you be so blind as to not have noticed that BSUGofer was quite intentionally drawing attention to being a "young, naive girl" who "needs help" and is "batting [her] eyes?" Talk about having a double standard. You apparently take yourself way too seriously.
